Specter Knows Who His Friends Are

Arlen Specter is getting by with a little help from his Senate friends.

The five-term Pennsylvania Republican, who faces a tough primary challenge from conservative former Rep. Patrick J. Toomey, received donations from 10 Republican senators in the first three months of this year.

The pro-Specter senators, who donated from either their candidate committees or their leadership PACs, include Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky; John Cornyn of Texas, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee; and Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, the Senate GOP Conference chairman.

Specter's campaign report also showed that he received funds from committees linked to Richard C. Shelby of Alabama; Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson of Georgia; Bob Corker of Tennessee; Michael D. Crapo of Idaho; and George V. Voinovich of Ohio, who's not seeking re-election next year.

Orrin Hatch of Utah gave to Specter from both his campaign committee, Hatch Election Committee, and his leadership PAC, OrrinPAC.

I see some senators I need to support the opponent in the next election.

I voted for that Turncoat Chambliss. The bastard.

All of them need to be swept out. Different side of the same coin.

Unfortunately I dont give any money to any of these “Loads” to begin with so I cant cut them off.

They certainly show their true colors when they back Sphincter and I hope those who do contribute realise that the money they contributed was passed on to Sphincter, so dont give any more.

Nutcakes

What they didn’t lose in 2006, they are making a hard run to lose in 2010.

So... there IS money involved, not just "lip service" as you tried to tell me on an earlier thread...

Guess it's not all nerves, after all. Cornyn is a poseur, I'm telling you. And, yes, it "ticks" me off no end.

I loved the crowd chanting “vote them out, vote them out” at the OKC tea party. And that is exactly what we should do.

This could be Steele’s first test. Can he outflank these reality-challenged Republicans? And not a one of them mentioned as presidential fodder. Career senators, all.

The RINO’s are really flagellants.

The more they get whipped, the better they feel.

Sorry Crappo, this Idahoan is finished getting whipped.

McConnell needs to be replaced as Leader, he is weak. There are far better conservatives in the senate that can lead.

You know, when Republicans elect a Republican Senator or Congressman, they have every right to expect a REPUBLICAN actually representing them in Washington. Millions of us currently have NO ONE in Washington representing us. It’s a pretty pathetic situation.
