When President Obama gave his economics speech at Georgetown University on Tuesday, several folks noticed something was missing.
That "something" was an ancient monogram -- the letters IHS -- that symbolizes the name of Jesus. It was missing from a wooden archway above the dais in Gaston Hall where the president delivered his 45-minute speech.
The gold-lettered monogram appeared near a painting of three female figures -- symbolizing morality, faith and patriotism -- and decorative edging along the wall that spelled out the Jesuit motto "Ad majorem Dei gloriam"—"To the greater glory of God." Georgetown was founded by the Jesuits.
Some of them may have been turning in their graves in the cemetery across campus at the sight of the missing monogram which looked like a blacked-out space above a blue backdrop and a row of American flags flanking the nation's chief executive. Was Georgetown selling short its Catholic heritage, we wondered.
I contacted the university this morning to ask why the monogram -- in this post-Easter season -- was hidden as its absence had been noted by several bloggers, including Dawn Eden -- formerly of the New York Post -- on her dawn patrol blog.
Julie Bataille from the university's press office e-mailed me that the White House had asked that all university signage and symbols behind the stage in Gaston Hall be covered.
"The White House wanted a simple backdrop of flags and pipe and drape for the speech, consistent with what they've done for other policy speeches," she wrote. "Frankly, the pipe and drape wasn't high enough by itself to fully cover the IHS and cross above the GU seal and it seemed most respectful to have them covered so as not to be seen out of context."

Enlarging may cause some loss of crispness and resolution - but a full width screen image shows many of the details a viewer would otherwise not see

They think if they use width=”400” height=”300’ on a large filesize 1200x900 photpgraph it will make it load faster on FR threads or on a webpage or email page
If they simply and quickly cut the image quality from 100% to 85% or the image parameters to a smaller WIDTH x HEIGHT and upload it to their own hosted archives - and post the image at 980x735 (for a 4:3 ration image) the graphic will show up quickly and still look fine
Those who HOTLINK or upload and post a Hi-Rex military or NASA photo and post it as-is - will quickly kill access by most dial-up FReepers and lurkers
Some of this applied to the Tea Party threads - a digital camera photo usually needs to be cut in filesize and WxH at Photoshop or at ImageMagick online - then uploaded and posted on a thread
Yeah - more time involved - but the object is too get as many views of an image or graphic as possible
Otherwise it becomes a tree falling in the wilderness

Many people don’t resize image size in their cameras, I get some photo attachments through email that are 2.5meg for one picture!!

There is a HUGE difference in posting a huge file size photo, than in enlarging a small one to a large size with html like you do.
Most people don't know the difference in that.

A 2000x1500 Hi-Rez photo reduced to 600x450 and then uploaded is often just a tiny fraction of the filesize
Yet using width=”980” height=”735” in the (img src=”http://?.?.jpg"; width=”980” height=”735” border=”0”) tag will still show good image on a FR thread

Then uploaded to a FREE Photobucket.com or Imagecave.com image hosting account - then uploaded on a FR thread post

You put your dandy vintage Bendix (aircraft) electric fuel pump right next to the gas tank at the rear of the car - mount it to the underbody using large washers and neoprene washers to dampen any vibes - use Loctite Blue on threads of nuts and bolts - not Loctite Red - Red requires heat to get the fasteners apart - not too smart around fuel lines or gas tanks
Use Airquipt safety fittings and clamps and aircraft spec flexible hose - I usually put larger tri-layer AC hose over those flex fuel lines between connections to avoid and leaks caused by a rocks or road debris flying up and hitting the flexible fuel lines
A good tip up front for transmission cooler lines too - steel, cooper, brass, or flexible
Unlike most posted images - the fuel pump need not be centered
While you are back there you might as well move your battery from under the hood (usually next to a hot radiator) to the right rear corner of your trunk in a vented marine battery box bolted properly to the trunk floor
Battery cable back up to the engine and starter must be large diameter cable with good thick insulation and inner copper wires should be made of small twisted wires - Cable must be run and fastened close to the frame or up inside the vehicle
Modifying carbs, ignition, manifolds, and cylinder heads is an extra credit course

I don’t think he’s THE AntiChrist but he’s sure a forerunner.
THE AntiChrist will have to have a cleaner back ground and come off smelling more successfully like a rose.
However, this treasonous satanic suck-up bustard jerk is sure testing the waters on a number of fronts and trying out tyrannical controls on a number of fronts. Will make it all the slicker for the AC to step up to the horrific plate.
Part of me still thinks OThuga is being set-up. I sure HOPE that the oligarchy has not tasked the Jihadi’s with . . . uhhhh . . . permanently removing from public life the whole succession list down to Shrillery.
