Yep. The American Catholic Church is liberal. I grew up in a conservative/traditional Catholic parish and grade and high school. But it was changing even in the 70s and early 80s in our really conservative Catholic parish/diocese.
I think and believe that Pope Benedict is refreshing and what the American Catholic Church needs.
A pure violation of separation of Church and State.
