Salt Lake City at the Federal Bldg. in the mid 30s and snowing. I originally estimated at least 1000, but I was at the back and to one side. Andyman was more centrally located in the crowd. His estimate is 3000. Given the pictures he took, he’s probably closer than I am.

Fantastic! I was so hoping there’d be a clearinghouse of sorts for the various tea parties. I attended one in Eustis FL today and do not have a figure. My guess would be about 400 people. Maybe more. And this is a small town. If I get harder numbers, I’ll re-post them. But I know I can’t rely on the Orlando Sentinel for them! They’d say about three people showed up.

P.S. Afterward, while leaving, I approached a small group of law enforcement at the scene to thank them for what they do, for what they do everyday for us.
The officer closest to me kept a poker face while slowly turning out the inside flap of his jacket where he’d safety-pined.........a TEA BAG! He and the other officers laughed and said they were with us all the way.

Hi Kristinn,
Just returned from rally in Carson City, Nevada...radio station reports 2,000. Fun and it kind of turned into a “DUMP REID” rally...lots of chants.

The one for Grand Rapids, Mich. just ended. I would put the number at 3000 easy, and that may be an undercount. The turnout was huge, with people coming in the whole time.

I attended Philadelphia's party. I estimated 700 at 1:00p but many people were stopping by for brief periods which suggeste that possibly 1,000 atended. The Stinky Inky (AKA the Bankrupt Philadelphia Inquirer) estimated 200 people with 20 hand drawn signs. The police were in attendance and very cordial with the crowd. One officer commented to me that this was not a crowd they expected any trouble from. He was correct. There were no overturned cars, broken store windows or looters. It was a cold, rainy day in Philly. Actually, a second party is scheduled for Saturday at the Liberty Bell. Fox news also estimated “several hundred”.

We attended the Baton Rouge Tea Party. The numbers were higher than the planners expected. I’d guess there were two thousand to three thousand folks there with LOTS of great signs.
