I read elsewhere that the pirates were funneling the money through various international avenues. I wonder if these are being monitored to gain a better understanding of the covert money routes?

A Somali pirate said the implementation of a tentative deal between U.S. Navy negotiator and Somali pirates to free the American captain of a container ship Richard Phillips, who is being held captive by Somali pirates, has been put off until April 12, the Bloomberg reported on Saturday.
The process was postponed because “each group suspects the other one” of reneging on the deal, said the pirate, who identifies himself only as Da’ud. Under the terms of the agreement, which the pirate said could still fall apart at any time, Richard Phillips and the four pirates holding him would all go free, and a “small” ransom would be paid.
Well, we’re watching, and the world is watching. Al Qaeda and Bin Laden and people like him are sizing up Obama. Depending how this all ends, it may give more encouragement to these people. If we end up somehow paying a ransom and they get off scot free, it will only encourage more of this in the future.
I don’t think Obama has the guts to order Navy seals or other military action.
If they get away with this, it will only embolden them for the future.
The last sentence of this powder puff piece. Actually, Obama has no clue how to use the big stick, and probably lacks the intelligence to listen to those who do know how.
Maybe he is slowly learning that his idiotic notions of dialog and diplomacy with assorted thugs, dictators and fanatics is truly idiotic. But I wouldn't bet on it, in spite of the responses his overtures have gotten so far from Russia, and the "moderate" Taliban, and from the good folks in Tehran.

0' is actually very clever, I think I know where he is going with all this, and everything he has done in the last few months now makes complete sense: First destroy the economy, print lots of money, and prime the US for big time inflation. Next, when hostages get taken, negotiate with them, and pay them big sums for the hostages release. Then, after a short while of big time inflation, the dollars given to the terrorists will be near worthless.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
