If they have any aims besides the ransom money, those aims would be to get some foolish nations to treat them like freedom fighters and offer them international political patronage “aid”, in the form of “development grants” with the “community organizers”, like the pirates, included in the lists of approved beneficiaries of the aid.
It would be just like Obama, and would translate well with everything he does - shift the payment of the money from the private sector to the government(s) and institutionalize it.
That and get tens of millions of dollars in ransom money. I read a couple months ago they live in multimillion dollar mansions, have private chefs flown in, and live like kings.
