You said — Yeah, thisll work! I cant imagine being questioned by the FBI after an incident like this. Who is kidding who here? Id probably be inclined to tell the nice special agent not to waste my time.

Even if this was all military, the brass would have those servicement debriefed, if they were involved in any kind of action like this. It’s not something out of the ordinary. It’s to be expected.
By doing this, you also can find out something that can help in the future.
BULL!
Using the FBI, at ALL sends the wrong signal.
We need the pirates to realize that we will shoot on sight, and that they will not live to see a trial.
How in the hell can we possibly “prosecute” in these situations, anyway?
How can we make sure that an ENTIRE CREW, of the captured ship, plus the ENTIRE CREW of each Navy ship, is available for a “trial”???
This is absurd!
Piracy is an act of war.
We need to see some dead pirates, nothing else will solve the problem.
The PIRATES need to see LOTS AND LOTS Of DEAD PIRATES!
Excuse me but we already know the WHY of it. There is a thriving piracy operation in the failed-state of Somalia. We also know HOW to stop it, if we are interested. There are a range of options: convoy, arming the ships, security guards, etc. None of them involve "law enforcement."
