Savage is a West-Coast Radio Talk Show Host

Savage is probably more socially conservative and national-defense conservative but he’s definitely not economically conservative/libertarian.

Tammy Bruce is pretty conservative on a range of things but she’s pro-choice and probably has disagreements on other issues.

Larry Elder is a libertarian-conservative kinda guy and supported Bush’s original immigration bill/

All West-Coasters

The problem with Michael Weiner is he is irrational and incapable of analysis. He is an utter fool and so is anyone who listens to him.

It took me awhile to enjoy Savage's program but I listen these days.

Besides for his politics he reminisces about America from his days in the Bronx as a boy, sailing, food, his days as a botanist etc. He is interesting and many of his beliefs are as conservative as they get.

But sometimes he loses his mind and I've no idea where he is coming from. His hatred of Palin baffles me. His argument against her is exactly what I have heard Liberals say.

“His hatred of Palin baffles me. His argument against her is exactly what I have heard Liberals say.”

I started the FR Savage Nation thread, and though I’m a big fan, his Palin hatred is incomprehensible - but I still listen to him.

A point of intrigue, though, was when he psychologically profiled 000bama after 000 made the anti-Palin “lipstick” remark. Savage nailed him dead-on, but I do wonder about Savage’s own problems that cause him to hate Palin.

But I still listen to him.

Why?

Although I listen to Rush more aften now that Bush is out of office, RL’s constant apologizing for the Bush Socialist Appetizer was quite nauseating.

Yep, Bush fed us the dainty finger food collectivist appetizer, and now we are getting the main course rammed down our throats.

FT, when I first listened to Savage it was his treatment of startled listeners that disturbed me.

Hearing him yell at listeners for being nervous or slightly overwhelmed when trying to speak with him was a shock.

I’ve not heard him do that in some time though.

I’m a slow talkin’ Southern boy, and I tried to call the show once. He’s a tough show to be on, but when he gets a caller he likes, he’ll spend QUITE a bit of time with them.

His stance on the Second Amendment is pretty far from conservative, and it’s a pretty major issue.

I will also add that, when my brother was a cop, his cruiser always had an M-16, an MP-5, a Benelli M-1 Super 80 and whatever Glocks he had on his person. While there are rare occassions that it happens, it’s rare that a cop with 2 fully automatic weapons is “out gunned”.

Well, I’m a Bostonian with an accent to match! By far Savage has the most wide range of listeners of any talk show.

Did I read the feeeeeeeeeelings of the guy right? Is he saying Savage wants gun control?

Savage has a small arsenal.

Saying the police are "out-gunned" is just a way of saying the liberals won't let the cops do their jobs -- like the cops used to do it in the days of a much lower crime rate.

I'm almost 70. I remember.

Liberals don't even want the cops to have a chance in gun battles.

I've listened to virtually every show for fifteen years -- taking guns away from law-abiding citizens is not something I've heard Savage suggest.

His critics hear a few minutes here and there and they're experts on the guy. Go figure.

I have never understood the Michael Savage phenomenon.

I definitely do understand.

I remember how conservatives cowered in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s.

"No, no! We're not racists. We're not Nazis. . . ."

"States rights" was considered a term for the N-word. Ditto "law and order" (lawn order).

"No, no! We're not racists. We're just saying don't send all the power to government employees in Washington. . . ."

Screaming insults 24/7 at conservatives pretty much shut us up.

Not anymore. Savage has stated many times, his aim is to give it right back to the liberals as many times over as possible.

When modern talk radio got started the most oft-heard caller comment was "I didn't know others believed as I do, you're saying what I've been trying to tell people!"

Later came Savage who showed that screaming at liberals (if necessary) does not hinder your career. It's the only way to short-circuit a liberals feeeeeeeeeeelings.

Others have followed. That's good.

Savage has nothing to offer on the front to advance Conservative values and defend America from the IslamOfascists.

Savage is a bitter little male.

Savage also gave money and support to Jerry Brown, the liberal democrat when he ran for Atty Gen here in Calif.

If you want to listen to an adult Conservative, Mark Levin
has a great radio program and can speak to the issues.
His newest book is No. 1 on Amazon and NY Times best
sellers list.

Check MarkLevin.com for time and stations.

Why are so many 'conservatives' following Michael Savage?

Where does that claim come from and what facts substantiate the claim?

As crackpots become more crackpottish, they keep being moved down to timeslots reserved for equally inclined crackpots......

Savage is so off the wall and filled with so many demons that its a wonder he is still on the radio at all.

But then again, its good for the liberal cause to have a crackpot like him on the air in order to judge the rest of us conservatives by what he says..........

“Savage is not your typical talk show wussie pussie”

Savage was a draft dodging wussie pussie hanging out with long haired maggot infested war protesters at CAL Berkely.

But he has delusions that he's a military genius like Patton. LOL

One of the most entertaining videos on YouTube (but scary for bystanders) is the one where a DEA agent is giving a lesson about guns to a high school class, declares himself to be “the only one in the room qualified to handle a weapon”, then literally shoots himself in the foot holsterring his sidearm. I showed it to my son to teach him to stay away from people who claim to be proficient with guns. One major take-away is that government employees are not the ones we should turn over all control to.

I enjoy the heck out of his rants. He says many times what I wish I could vent at work and not get fired. Doesn’t mean I always agree with him. I believe Gov. Palin has been brought up already.

“delusions that he’s a military genius like Patton. LOL”

Kind of a side issue to this thread, but have you checked out the 10 part series on Gen. Patton that started on the History Channel Friday? 1st part was about Operation Torch in Morrocco. Looks good so far.

The problem with Michael Weiner...

Why, other than the fact you don't like him, do you insist on calling Mike Savage Michael Weiner when he has chosen to be known as the former?

RE: "Savage has nothing to offer on the front to advance Conservative values and defend America from the IslamOfascists."

Nothing to offer? What's he suppose to do, parachute into Iran? Where are the others on the Islamofascists' list?

No other talk show host that I know of has the guts to stand up to our radical Islamist terrorist enemy the way Dr. Michael Savage does!

Iran gets in on the Michael Savage bashing.

Not in decades has a media personality taken on America's foreign enemies the way Dr. Savage has. While other talk show hosts deserve our thanks for outstanding support of our military and their mission nevertheless national talk show hosts are lacking in taking on the enemy of America the way Dr. Savage has. IMO. A few tepid remarks from time to time just don't cut it.

To be fair I did hear Mark Levin dare CAIR to come after him.

If there are other radio personnel targeted by the Islamic Republic of Iran or other radical Islamist enemies I am not aware of them.

I think Savage deserves the recognition despite his severest critics.

Well at least the tyrants in Iran have a cute little name for him, Dajjal. A little classier than the Savage-haters here in the states, like $#&^! *(#%^! Yeah, like those.

Wow, the leading cause of terrorism in the world, the Islamic Republic of Iran, has taken offense at our own Michael Savage!

What other talk show host can boast that?

I am a fan of Levin and Savage. I am no one's acolyte. I do not take sides but when facts are in order I try to deliver.

Your brother was lucky. There are a lot of departments out there that only issue rifles on an emergency basis. And then their chiefs whine about their officers being out gunned.
