THOSE OLD Republican hot buttons are growing cold. For proof, check out a recent interview with Mitt Romney, a former presidential candidate and ex-governor of Massachusetts.
According to TheHill.com, a congressional newspaper that publishes when Congress is in session, "Romney believes that one way to attract more minorities to the GOP is to pass immigration reform before the next election, saying the issue becomes demagogued by both parties on the campaign trail." The article also quotes Romney as saying, "We have a natural affinity with Hispanic-American voters, Asian-American voters."
This could be extreme political repositioning, even for Romney.

How Romney gets beyond the flip-flop-flips of his multiple-choice positions on immigration and other issues is a mystery only he can solve.

You know as well as I that looking at a transcript and actually hearing the words can result in two different views.
And how many times do I have to say that if I believed for an instant that what Romney said about “promise them anything” was true, I’d be the first to want him out of the GOP?
I didn't see any chuckle after the statement.
There's lots of other reasons too, Romney isn't a good choice for president period.
If he continues to run, it will just hurt any conservative candidate that comes on the scene.

They did not state the other half that it was a JOKE.
In other words, they did a half-job of reporting for whatever reason. I guess they wanted a story.

This is exactly what you did when it happened more than a year ago, you told everyone that you had watched the video and to just take your word that everyone else was wrong, but you would not supply a link.
Until you come up with some proof then Redstate is the source and that is a damning quote.
You also made clear that you hadn’t seen it live but had watched the video after the event.
I also rewatched it at a later point on Mitt Romney's site.
I couldn't supply a link because there was none, because it was removed off of the site.
It's as simple as that, and I still stand by that today. My story has not changed, because that is exactly what happened and what I did.
If you don't want to take my word for it, fine, but those are the facts. I would not mislead anyone or be untruthful.
I must tell you that I was disappointed in Red State’s reporting about this. That is why I don’t totally trust them.
You spend a lot of time talking about trust, I learned to not trust you on the Romney threads related to Catholicism and Mormonism and how good a catholic you were.
If you think about it, what is really the purpose of FR?

Well, on that thread that evening, what did everyone do?
No one asked anyone who saw it what they thought. Instead, they just ranted and ranted and ranted without having seen the video.
Doesn’t this remind you of what still happens here today when people just post things without reading the article? You know, they just rant.

Like I said, I don’t lie. Right after the NH primary the video of it was on the Romney site when you first entered (and it was fairly lenghty) and it was CLEARLY LEVITY (I thought nothing of it when I heard it). I just went to the Romney site where it is under Mitt TV and is called “National Call Day” (shortened without that levity part in it). That’s all I can tell you. You will have to take my word for it. I couldn’t find it on ABC News’ site as well. Look, if this indeed happened, it would be all over the news, especially ABC. You’ve been wrongly (lack of a better word) reported to, people, by RedState.
I talk about trust, because trust is the most important thing to us all. Without trust, we have nothing.
I want this site to be a place that is trusted and respected. You know, not like other sites.

After the LIVE broadcast on the website was over, I went back to where I indicated it was at, and they shortened it.

What could I have possibly posted that would make you think such a thing?
What you would do is hold yourself up as a dedicated catholic and use that to shut down any questions about Mormonism, while refusing to respond to posts informing you of the Vatican's position or official Catholic positions, you would just refuse to even acknowledge the posts and would keep selling your own point of view under the catholic mantle. You have a style and it isn't convincing and it isn't honest, that is why you post constantly about honesty and lying because rather than being honest you try to sell yourself as honest and almost never give any factual information. This whole video thing is another example, people were asking for a source more than a year ago only a day or two after you said you saw it and told everyone what to think about it.
And I just want you to know that I am one person that you can trust. You may not always agree with me, nor I with you, but rest assured, I will never post something that I think is untrue (either words by me or someone else), and I will never, ever purposely mislead people. And you have my word on it. My word is good, and that is very, very important to me. I’ve made a lot of great friends here at FR, and I appreciate them, and I will never, ever let them down.
That isn’t true I know you very well and am reading another thread right now that illustrates how slippery and evasive you are with truth.

After far as religion, I NEVER, EVER shot down any questions of any religion. In fact, I stuck my neck out by screaming for religious tolerance on this site on many, many occassions. Like I said, I respect ALL good religions and all good god-fearing people. You must be thinking of someone else.

I worked on his campaign as a subcontractor mail vendor - I built the mail list. I also voted for him since I’m an SC voter - he’s one of my favorites, too, and a rising star in the party.
