“NK media....sounds EXACTLY like US media”

Hmmmm. More speed 3D chess challenge.

Then again, maybe this is where the missing Sept ‘08 FED $550 Bn went. /s (I think)

I did a little research. A Saudi bought 5.46% interest in
the news service arm. Ever since reading that I have a jaundiced eye towards the news, including Fox. That is why I was not surprised to see that Obama, protrasting himself before the Saudi king was not the lead story on Fox news. Here is a link for the 5.46% purchase info www.freerepublic.com/focus/foxnews/1539210/posts

I would like to see the telemetry on this launch, have you heard any details yet? Any speculation on if they made it to orbit?

Thanks again!

America is generally not engaged (with attention nor interest) in foreign things that might well impact the Republic until it is too late and then we have planes going into buildings or Japanese Zeros bombing our battleships. And then palpitating, cluesless people are doofus-ly on the air waves in the announcer's seat, looking into the camera saying "Where in the Heck did THAT come from!!?" (Doh!) (Unless you live on or near a US military base), truly, how many of your friends and neighbors back there at the grassroots (Joe Sixpack) even know the fact that 38,000 fellow Americans, all in uniform, are living and working right now in range of North Korean Taepodongs and Scuds, and this missile flight over Japan actually went very close to a major American US Air Base called "Misawa" in Japan, with thousands of airmen there in potential danger? And nary a peep of this nor do many of your neighbors know nor do they perhaps care (or even know where Japan is and get it mixed up with China and Korea and Hong Kong). I am just saying this in a general sense to all Freepers out there.

It is a national weakness, a real blind spot, and it is reflected tonight in our vast wasteland of US media reporting on a major international event which impacts all in the US, wherein we have to turn to FR for The Truth in Timeliness. For as international as a people as we are (meaning people from every conceivable nation on earth) we are still incredibly insular and inward, total oblivious to the outside world at times. Now is one of them, (judging on yours and others reports of CNN, FOX TV, major networks, etc) Sad to see this, but nothing new, not surprising, in fact endemic. This is also the byproduct of a dumbed down society. They will only air what the American People in great measure appear to want; by and large the people want "bread" and "circuses" as well as substandard Presidents who are more pop-culture savvy "cool older brothers" than "seasoned leaders during international crises". Freepers are different I know, but hey, as a nation, you get what you want and majority rules.

300 plus nodong and scud which can be short/intermediate in range (across the Sea of Japan), and many of them are targeted at US military bases in Japan as we speak. in fact each and every US military base and Japanese self defense force base probably has at least a few North Koran scuds trained on it. These can carry chems and bios, or maybe even some crude radioactive material if they really want to be nasty.

No particular meaning, found it on some medieval heraldry site and it looked like a cool thing to capture.

Flash EXTRA!! Japanese newspapers editions are just now, as I speak, hitting the streets of Tokyo, in the downtown area with thousands of Sunday shoppers. This photo taken a little while ago.

Headline in foreground from Sankei Shimbun news says "NORTH KOREA LAUNCHES MISSILE".

(Like that would have saved us from a nuke).

Actually, only if the Russians had been aiming for your school. Then the thing, if it went off, would have been quite some distance from your school. And for a nuke a long distance, duck and cover probably would have saved you from the flying glass and such, at least minimizing head injuries, if increasing injuries to the buttocks.

WWI started because of one killer shooting a government official and you are telling me this couldn’t set off WWIII?

Actually there were several of them involved in the effort to off the Grand Duke in Sarajevo, where the same groups are still causing trouble today.

Why is FNC always asleep at the wheel....

Murdoch's wife is a ChiCom. He'll do anything to get a foothold in that market.
