CHICAGO (AP) — Rod Blagojevich's schemes and corruption stretch back beyond trying to sell a Senate seat, beyond handing out jobs to political donors and even beyond his first day in the Illinois governor's office, federal prosecutors say.
While he campaigned on a promise to clean up after the scandals of the previous governor, Blagojevich and a handful of political pals already were planning to line their pockets and split the money after Blagojevich left office, according to a 19-count indictment.
If true, the allegations show Blagojevich blew past the actions that put ex-Gov. George Ryan in prison and took corruption to new levels in Illinois.
Ryan pressured state employees to contribute $50 and $100 to his campaigns, while Blagojevich demanded $50,000 and $100,000 from companies simply wanting a chance to do business with the state, according to the indictment.
Ryan steered government money to friends who gave him gifts and vacations. Blagojevich tried to block money for sick children and students unless he got big political contributions, the indictment says.

If Blago ever writes a book or decides to cooperate fully with investigators, the political corruption machine so rampant in Chicago and Illinois will come a tumblin’ down...
If they are going to go after the ex Gov; they should go after Daily and Obama and the rest.
IF he sings it will only be because he won't be given a pardon. He knows a LOT and has the personality to give it up to save his butt....but, the common denominator between Blago and Obama is Rahm...and by now, Rahm has given him the blessing of a pardon if he doesn't sing....if not, there is no way this scumbag will go down alone....especially now that they also indicted his brother. Time will tell!!

After living in Chicago for 15 years you have to understand the system. Daley is insulated....quite insulated...he comes from a family of corruption in politics and is a master in deception and corruption, just like his father the late Mayor Daley. That’s why he kept so quiet during the Blago debacle...Obama and Daley are in this together....they both would be almost impossible to get at it....but I believe in karma and miracles so will see.....will see...
They had terrorist-sympathizers living in Chicago suburb that had a so-called charity that raised money for these terrorists that were in our country and helped them out.

Chapter 6 of the commission report tracks a list of charities that were sending monies to terror organizations and the FBI had their hands tied in acting on the inforamtion.

He didn’t even come close to Clinton’s levels of corruption

No mention of the Obama-Rezko real estate deal. What a shock. If there is an honest investigation and prosecution, Obama will be indicted and convicted.
Michelle’s likely no-show job needs to be looked at. Rezko could very well be dumping on Obama and Fitzgerald is simply gathering ALL the info on Obama before he makes his move.
