Greetings to all the Freeper Canteeners out there this fine Friday evening, it's time for the Friday Flyby to get off the ground. Tonight we reach into the Flying Legends file for some pics of Grumman Iron Works WW-II aircraft.

I think all of tonights pics were taken at the Duxford Air Show back in 2007. So on with the pics...

We lead off tonights Flyby with a head on picture of two of the three mainstays of Grumman's WW-II aircraft, the F4F Wildcat and the F6F Hellcat.

Next up the 'Cats in flight with the Hellcat in the top position.

The Wildcat and Hellcat are joined in this picture by an F8F Bearcat. The Bearcat just missed seeing service in WW-II.

Another picture of the F4F, the F6F and the F8F jockeying for position for the photographers.

Okay looks like the three 'Cats have gotten lined up!

And to round out tonight s Flyby we bring in all four of the Grumman WW-II Cats for a final Flyby salute. Left to right we have the F6F Hellcat, the F7F Tigercat, the F8F Bearcat and the F4F Wildcat. Wouldn't be great to hear the sound of the 4 Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engines and the P & W R-1830 flying overhead :-)

Well we hope everyone has a great weekend out there, stay safe and with a wee bit of luck we will be back tomorrow night with the Saturday Sortie.

Regards
