I think it was well known that Dick Cheney did feel Scooter Libby should have had a full pardon but also as with other pardons the President issued he did not like overturning actual judgments rather preferred to commute sentences.

I also hope that this is not the reason that Dick Cheney is not at this event, hopefully he either had something else schedule or maybe intelligence is still that it is not advisable that they are seen together in a public setting.

They hardly ever appeared together at events outside the DC area after 9/11 and then it was very official events or events where it was expected that the President and VP attend.

I tend to believe it is something do do with a prior engagement or security rather a quarrel because we all know that in politics many people will appear with others even if they disagree for political reasons and a reunion I would have thought would have been in that category.

Happy Easter, snugs...prayers for your father’s health. Oh, how I wish President Bush was still in office, my fear for this nation grows by the day!

Thank you and I agree the fear factor does grow each day and IMHO it is more far reaching than just America this is serious for the world at large.

With America having such a left wing President it will only legitimize the left wing movements in other countries.

They didn’t say that was why, but they sure implied it. I am sick of the media trying to make problems in relationships where there aren’t any.

I saw a photo of Cheney in his office in McLean, VA, and on the wall beside him was a big picture of him and President Bush. I doubt if he feels such ill-will toward Bush to the extent that he wouldn’t attend a reunion, that he’d have a huge photo of him on his wall.
