President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle arrived in Britain last night to bring some glamour to the G20 summit of world leaders. The Presidential plane, Air Force One, touched down at Stansted just before 8pm for Mr Obama's first official visit to Europe. A crowd of well-wishers, many waving U.S. flags, had gathered in the cold to welcome the couple
Hand in hand, they waved from the steps of the Boeing 747, the First Lady wearing a bright yellow dress and the President in a dark suit and spotted tie.
They were greeted by Chancellor Alistair Darling - and tight security - before travelling on to London
Selected members of the President's 500-strong entourage were airlifted to London in American military Chinook helicopters. Later today Mr Obama will go to Buckingham Palace for a real British welcome - a cup of tea. He will be offered it at a meeting with the Queen and Prince Philip in their private apartments
The 'getting to know you' session - which will probably last about 25 minutes - is something of a break with protocol because visiting heads of state normally meet the monarch only if they are on an official state visit, whereas Mr Obama will be in town as one of a number of leaders. After the meeting, the couple will be taken to a reception to welcome the heads of state of the G20 and other nations attending. Most senior members of the Royal Family...

He decided to prevent any turmoil over not placing his hand over his heart on his recent visit to Camp Lejeune by not coming onto the stage until after the national anthem was over. Amazing and yet, so NOT amazing; but what a message.

Her Majesty presented Mr. Obama with his Kenyan birth certificate from Mombassa hospital that shows all the facts of his birth and, most importantly, that Barack Hussein Obama Seotero is not a native born American citizen, but a Subject of the Crown by way of his Kenyan father's British Colonial citizenship. Her Majesty then gave the usurper his orders and he will comply or be exposed as the fraud he certainly is.
Then she handed him 25 videos and told him to return them to Blockbuster before he has to pay a fine.

. . .the worlds most famous celebrity, with the worlds most photographed woman. . . Think that distinction still remains with Princess Diana; at least, the Brits would have that, anyway.

"Don't tell me this uncouth monkey showed up at Buckingham in shirt sleeves?!?! This can't be real!"I don't think that is a recent picture. I knew someone from Turkey who drank their tea in that manner.

His limo was flown over? Is this typical? His own chefs? 500 in his entourage?
To: whatshotandwhatsnot
The limo(s) are always flown over, two of the in fact. There is always a decoy just in case.
As for personal chefs and an entourage of 500....I don’t know about that.

Been hearing in the radio that 300 is more typical — with 200 of those being SS.

The Friends just reported that Barry brought a friend for playing basketball. And that Michelle refused to ride on the Queen's train--said it wasn't safe. And it's not safe for Her Majesty?
The Friends also said that Barry rambled on during the first press conference where the British press actually gave him tough questions. Gordon saved his friend, though, with lots of praise. Huge protests outside on the streets...gee, I thought Barry would bring much swooning and the tossing of flowers.
