This is what has happened with the two party system. Their decisions are based more on whats best for their parties and to hell with the country.Bingo, the posters here who defend the stupid conduct of the republicans of the last few years are as sick as they are.

The laws are being ignored. Might as well propose open borders and let them try to make an argument as to “why not”. Perhaps this would clarify the arguments by taking it to the absurd.

It could have been written by the RNC or the Mccain/Palin campaign.

RE :”

Great idea, Not only that but we can offer to give them credit for paying social security taxes during the time that they were working under the table, and give them the Obama tax credit retro-actively. We can out-bid the democrats on illegals. Oh, yes, and we can tax the rich to pay for it, anyone making over 250K can pay 95% tax, called the “The immigration stability fairness tax”. This tax would only apply to American citizens , not those legalized under amnesty(say they made 300K in drug sales, we ignore that.) . If we follow this advice we can get Acorn and La-Raza on our side.
McCain would be in a tough position if Obama brought this up.

The GOP should start pushing for deportation. The biggest danger to this country comes not from Iraq but from the open borders and the hordes of illegal aliens and immigrants from enemy nations who roam across the country. An invasion.

Look how much good all the pandering did for Juan McCain. There is no way to outpander the Oba Mao crowd because they don't live in a world of reality. At some point the people who pay the taxes and pull the engine of the economy are going to say "to hell with it" and go John Galt.
Then you'll see race wars between all the little subgroups because the socialist overlords can't even come close to delivering what they promised.

The scale and spread of violence caused by the Mexican drug cartels make it more important than ever that we not only secure the border but learn the identities and backgrounds of the 20 million undocumented workers living throughout our country. How does the author get from A to B? Is he saying that the 20 million undocumented workers are cartel members? Or, if they can do background checks on all 20 million and put them in a massive database and determine that they aren't cartel members, that they'll be model citizens and should be granted amnesty? What information will they gather? How many people will be required to establish and maintain it? How many dollars will be spent without doing a thing to fix the problem?
And if the government succeeds in pushing this massive intrusion on privacy onto illegal aliens (and/or newly minted citizens), how long before they will require it of all citizens?
"Pathetic little crap weasel" is right.

People instinctively don't support a 72-year old frumpy guy with recurring cancer, especially one with such an irritating nasal voice as McCain. I truly believe it had very little to do with amnesty one way or another. Amnesty probably didn't effect those who actually voted, but we have no idea how many conservatives just sat home because really why bother. McLame was just Bob Dole (ver 2.0) and he appealed to nobody. I think the majority of those who voted for him (myself included) were petrified of the alternative, and its IMPOSSIBLE to win an election that way.

He’s right. Without the Hispanic vote, the GOP is toast. This may be a hail-mary, but it’s our only shot.
