I agree that some of the LDS church’s practices are unusual (especially the secret/sacred temple stuff), but what do you find disturbing? Baptism for the dead; a man can become a god; "magic underwear" that has -or had - Free Masonry symbols; Celestial marriage; polygamy, including "marrying" someone else's wife; Kolob; God having physical sex with the virgin Mary in order to sire Jesus Christ....
There is plenty to find disturbing.
