New Mormon anti-freeper site and campaign to bankrupt FR
rumor mill | March 29, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/29/2009 2:35:03 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

I understand there is a new anti-freeper site started by disgruntled former and present Mormon FReepers and it is their intention of bankrupting FR during the coming Freepathon by withholding their donations and disrupting our activities. Well, all I can say is, if they feel that badly against FR, by all means they should withhold their donations and drop out of FR. But it they attempt to disrupt our operations I will guarantee they will no longer be members of FR. If that is their wish, so be it.

I'm not going to try to defend FR from their claims of religious persecution, but I will say that Mormons have and always have had free reign to post their threads on FR just as all other religious groups have enjoyed. Free Republic defends the right to freedom of religion and has always welcomed religious discussion and always will. And Mormons have always been welcome here. I have absolutely nothing against Mormons.

If you are one who has left or is leaving, I wish you well, but disruption of FR is not welcome and will not be tolerated.

And this is not the first time such activity has been attempted by groups of disgruntled former FReepers. Good luck with that. There is always some group that feels FR should be bent to their way of thinking and end up saying my way or the highway. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not changing so I guess it's the highway. Is it Feb 8 yet?

God bless.

Actually, the only thing that may be typical is your response. First of all, butting into my discussion w/ Jim, & second mischaraterizing my response, something you do w/ LDS doctrine frequently.

I had no knowledge of the anti-FR spamer or his site until this thread, as was the case w/ many here, thus the genesis, or instigation (if you want to call it that) of the issue from our part. I, as well as others, have noted our dismay for the conduct this guy, thus putting the “collar” on him, not Jim. Jim made some assertions that inferred a wrong scenario. His assertions were not totally clear, thus I was seeking clarification.

Not sure what your problem is here other that to insert yourself into a discussion you have no party to (unless you claim to speak for Jim). You speak of spam, but yet that's exactly what I would classify your post as. Most of your post had nothing to do w/ the matter at hand other than to spam your dislike for Joseph Smith, etc.

I admire this board & the things Jim has done for the board & all of us. Jim & I don't always agree, but I respect his opinions & the opportunity to voice my opinions on various matters here. I'm indebted to the board. Great work has been done here throughout the years & I appreciate that. The perception was that there was a concerted effort on the part of the LDS contingent to bring down the FR. That assertion was clearly erroneous. I was simply asking for further clarification from Jim on the matter.

If you claim to be Jim's spokesperson, do so. Otherwise, quit spamming.

Yes, that’s quite a little problem and a major difference from traditional Christian doctrine. Thus the claim that the bible has to be “interpreted correctly”, which only the Mormons are able to do, according to them.

Not only that, they teach that the current prophet has the authority to override past prophets...Like with Blood atonement, polygamy, the Adam is God doctrine etc.

They teach the children from a young age to "Follow the LIVING Prophet", but because anything of any import can be changed by a new prophet (all claiming to have revelation from an UNCHANGING GOD)....They would be much more honest to teach and use as a slogan....

FOLLOW THE FUTURE PROPHET.

The majority of readers have decided that you are deceiving people and that the posters you condemn for posting truths of the teachings of your false religion are correct and you are wrong.

So the readers have decided.

Check and wonder at the amazing power of the ONE TRUE GOD of the Bible.

did you alert JR or the FR mods to what was going on at that site?

The RM knew about it before I did.

And everyone and everybody, from what I understand, has daily revelations, so they’re all prophets, according to them.

Thanks, good material

Yet they don't even believe their own teachings.

Except the ones that tell them to skirt questions and to deceive.

You'd think they would see the falseness and go to the Savior instead of a man made god.

Are you actually saying what it LOOKS like you are saying?

I think Fred is trying to accuse Greg West of being an "Anti-Mormon" Freeper who created an Pro-Mormon-Anti Free-Republic site as a means of embarrassing Mormon Freepers.

Pretty imaginative for a guy who can't do HTML and who can't diagram a sentence.

I still think we should make Fred an Inman, he has done more for our cause than most...

Well, maybe, but I'm afraid that at the club meetings when we ask him to pass the salt and pepper he would take an hour and a half to accuse us of not REALLY wanting the salt and pepper, but wanting to cover up the REAL reason we were asking for it and trying to subvert his right to discern whether there is really salt in the salt shaker and pepper in the pepper shaker and whether it would be prudent to fulfill our request or whether it is some kind of trick to make him actually pass the cream and sugar instead, if indeed the cream pitcher actually held cream and the sugar bowl actually held sugar...and then he would have to "study up" on the whole situation because he would have to discern what our ulterior motives are in actually having a club and whether it was a serious attempt to break the bonds of mormon "exclusivity" by not inviting greg west to join the club too, because as you know, greg could be seen as doing more for our cause that Fred is!

A put down.

I still go with “””Why do you change the subject instead of insuring ya’ll are teaching the truth.”””

Have you ever heard of FREEPMAIL? If you were having a pure 1-on-1 discussion, then use that venue.

Obviously, you didn't. Therefore, only one pair of eyes was not your intention.

I've been around large LDS families enough to know that often when one person speaks to another, a third, 4th, 5th, etc. person may interject. But if you don't look at FR as a "family" -- often a "divided family" -- I can understand where you're coming from.

(Oh, and when somebody does bring history as an example into a family discussion, do you usually try to shut them down by labeling their words, "spam?" I hardly doubt you would do that in person. So why is it so much easier when the person isn't face-to-face?)

Oh, I wouldn't worry about that.

Jim is a big boy and can make his own decisions.

As far as your dispute with one part I posted, you are wrong in you easement of my thoughts.

There was no reason to post more than I did.

Now concentrate on finding the One True God of the Bible and read all the blasphemous and false words quoted here from the leaders of your church and be freed from the darkness of false religion.

Thanks for the post.

Because we are already teaching the truth, LDS doctrine and dogma have assured that.

Since you still have yet to show us otherwise, and continue to obfuscate with empty hands, an occasional barb is certainly not unexpected...

Hey JimRob, it looks like we have been noticed by the Mormonapologegtics site. http://www.mormonapologetics.org/index.php?showtopic=42319

This might ratchet up the accusations against FreeRepublic noticeably.

I AM QUOTING DIRECTLY FROM YOUR OWN CHURCH'S BOOKS, QUOTES FROM YOUR OWN PROPHETS.

STOP BEARING FALSE WITNESS AGAINST ME.

Bill Clinton would be proud of your performance on this thread....Next you'll be asking me what the definition of "is" is.

Joe Smith had an affinity for Islam's methods as well.

You've been calling us all liars for the whole thread...."Inbreds" too, I believe.

Time for the mormon "Can't win because I'm defending a fraud so I'll whine instead" argument step.....It comes after "You're lying" and before "I'm being persecuted".

How long until you just go right to "I have a testimony..." ?

I wonder if Obama joined the Mormons when he lived in Indonesia...His methods of refusal to provide a birth certificate are similar to your methods of refusal to answer simple questions here.
