At one time in a prior career I was an automotive journalist in Detroit, and I interviewed Mr. Wagoner on several occasions. He was a prototypical GM finance guy who rose through the ranks with no special attributes that would have singled him out to run one of the largest corporations (actually, the MODEL for Drucker’s “Concept of the Corporation” so long ago) in the world. He's a boxed in thinker who believes more of the same will be good enough. I hate Obama, but if he fired Wagoner, I give him credit (at least until he announces that Barney Frank will replace him...)
It sounds like you're calling me out. Why?
The problem is that the President of the US does not and should not have the power to “fire” any executive of any private company. This is blatant, it’s being done on a weekend in hopes that fewer people will notice, and if you think Wagoner is going to be the only one, I fear you’ll be sadly mistaken.
