I have seen a lot threads in here on our friend and heroine, Sarah Palin. While most in here are good, there have been some posts or comments in these posts that have led me to speak out. For all of you so-called conservatives who have nothing to do than bash Sarah Palin, I have only one word to say to you. ENOUGH! I have had it with finding fault with everything she does.
I'll admit, she needs more work, but to sit here and bash her like a member of the Democratic Party or liberal media is reprehensible. To say she is damaged goods because of her being McCain's running mate is reprehensible. She has brought more excitement and energy than any one I can remember except Reagan. She is young, vibrant, conservative, charismatic, and honest. She is beautiful as well, but that's besides the point. Even though we lost, I think bringing Sarah Palin on the national scene was probably one of the few things McCain did right in this campaign. Sarah was the one who brought out crowds to rallies as big as Obama did. That's saying something. The Dems, the media, and yes, even some Republicans, know that she's probably the one person who can unseat Obama in 2012. They know it, which is why they are continually attacking her even though the election is long gone.
I am a strong Sarah supporter, but I will not follow her blindly. If she does something that I don't agree with, I will say it. But she seems to know what she's doing, and I am just a regular person, which she is as well other than governor. I hope she runs for re-election in 2010 and wins, and if God is willing, she decides to run for the Presidency in 2012, I will enthusiastically support her. First, if she is re-elected, she just needs to work for the people of Alaska, which I'll know she'll do. After that, she should run in '12 if she decides to do so. She will have a strong base of support. All of the other candidates who ran in 08 should just step aside and let some new blood run. I do hope to volunteer for her campaign if she decides to run. That has been my dream, to work on a campaign. Hopefully it will be hers.
Again, for those so-called conservatives who bash her, either admit you just don't like Sarah, or get on board. It's not like, "It's her turn." It's our turn, and she can be our leader. She's not perfect, but who is? All I can say is, she will be the right person at the right time. Keep her and her great family in prayer as she makes the tough decisions down the road. God bless her and her family.
If not 2012, at least by 2016. Myself, I look forward to the debates if she does get into the fray.
Then you are looking too far into the future. We need to concentrate on 2010 and getting back control of congress from Nancy and at least four or five reliable new Republicans in the senate... four years out the three of them with Rahm and buddies will destroy this country and, frankly, 2012 won’t be worth spit. Remember... Hitler was democratically elected in Germany.
...though you're still wrong, as usual, in regard to Sarah Palin.
Get over yourself. Long before Mccain won the nomination conservatives warned their liberal GOP bretheren not to nominate Rudy McRomney. And reminded them and reminded them again. We said it is the surest way to lose, nominating a RINO. They didn’t listen, gave all their money to Rudy McRomney and we got shellacked. Just as the conservatives predicted.
You would also probably say that you're "more conservative" than Reagan was. Yet until you win the presidency with two landslide victories your statement is meaningless.
You seem a decent sort, pissant, but after you spoke to Hunter and wouldn't ask about the *birth certificate* your credibility became very questionable.
For months you disparaged anyone who dared voice any doubt about your quest to declare Obama ineligible, yet here you had on the phone a recently retired congressman and aspirant to the presidency, and your excuse was that you 'didn't have enough time'.
Don't even think about critiquing Sarah Palin. She actually does whilst you merely talk.
I seem to recall you getting your panties in a twist last year when people went after Duncan, and later Huckabee.
Actually, Reagan was pretty damn conservative. Might want to read up on him sometime
Please, step away from the glue.
Uh, I love to argue. Bring it on. No panties in a twist ala the Fredheads. I defended Hunter’s record against the folks who knew next to nothing about it, yet pretended otherwise.
As for Huck, I helped lead the charge against him. So you recalled wrong.
I’ve read more, and know more about, Reagan than you ever will. And I can confidently say if he were alive today that Sarah Palin would have his unyielding support.
If she won the nomination, I’m sure she would. But Reagan, you may recall was the bain of environmentalists, so I doubt he would be spouting the McCain/Palin line on global warming.
I actually thing Reagan would likely support a real Reaganite myself. But its all speculation.
I really wish Duncan could get some momentum.
After it got down to McCain or Huckabee or Mitt, I had no idea what the hell to do, except cry.
You are parsing his words. His position never changed. Your man Mike Huckabee is in favor of cap and trade btw.
We are discussing Palin, not McCain. So please expound on HER "spouting the line on global warming". I'll find this interesting as she continually 'spouts' on our need to open more oil fields up and expand our exploration of oil - not exactly an endeavor that the global warming crowd would approve of.
Honey you need to go back in my history, you would know I NEVER supported Mike Huckabee. As to your man Romney, he changes positions as often as his underwear.
Did you hear her incoherent answers when asked about global warming? Apparently not.
And I know plenty about Reagan, apparently alot more than you, and putting Palin on that level is ludicrous.
Your knowledge of RR is wanting, at best. Feel free to think as you wish, she'll be the nominee, if she so desires it, in 2012.
Perhaps when you again speak to Hunter you can ask him what he thinks of her. That is, if you have time.
She’s the one that said multiple times that she did not have to “check my views” at the door when she accepted the nomination. FWIW.
