OTTAWA The Fox News television host who mocked Canadian troops in Afghanistan has apologized for what he says was a satire.
"The March 17th episode of Red Eye included a segment discussing Canada's plan for a 'synchronized break,' which was in no way an attempt to make light of troop efforts," Greg Gutfeld, host of the segment, told the Canwest News Service on Monday in an e-mailed statement.
"However, I realize that my words may have been misunderstood. It was not my intent to disrespect the brave men, women and families of the Canadian military, and for that I apologize. Red Eye is a satirical take on the news, in which all topics are addressed in a lighthearted, humourous and ridiculous manner."

Red Eye airs weekdays at 3 a.m. on the Fox Network, which is accused of a strong right-wing bias in the U.S.

Hmm, that is a new one to me. many years ago, some Canadian pals introduced me to Mayo on fries and I have to admit that I like it.
The ideal is Belgium fries and homemade mayo.
The funny thing is ..you can tell she knows that too..
Bump - Greg did the right thing by apologizing to Canada’s military families.
I've already slapped myself upside the head, so you don't have to.

I don’t know when my heart will stop breaking!
Canada has a great military, there just aren’t very many of them. They don’t need a large army because they are defended by the USA. Thems the facts, take ‘em or leave ‘em.
You’ve touched on something called ‘reality’.
Let’s be perfectly frank, shall we? Aside from this being JUST A FEAKIN JOKE and people should get over it, what you’ve posted is accurate.
When other countries’ military contributions to the WOT are posted here, we applaud politely, but in reality, isn’t it like giving a big cheer for the kid show doesn’t catch the ball but shows up for every practice?
This war is being fought by America. The other countries who are contributing are doing the right thing. That doesn’t mean their contributions deserve the Heismann, the Oscar, the Nobel and a house in the country. Our military is doing the bulk of the fighting, out taxpayers are paying for most of it, and our soldiers are doing by far most of the dying.
We can go back to giving golf claps to the little brothers of the world who are assisting now, and pretending we’re all in the same boat, we’re all contributing the same. But really, it’s no more real than saying “we” are fighting, when we (no quotes) are posting on a web page, not shooting, killing and being killed.
Thanks to the Canadians and others who are contributing something. But come on, if all of them refused to join us, we still would have gone to war, and I suspect the results would be no different.
I know, exg.
Thanks for the link.
Supporters stand on a bridge as the hearses carrying four fallen soldiers passes on March 23, 2009. All four soldiers were based at CFB Petawawa, Ont. One attack last Friday killed Master Cpl. Scott Vernelli and Cpl. Tyler Crooks, who were both members of November Company, 3rd Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment. The second attack killed Trooper Jack Bouthillier and Trooper Corey Hayes of the Royal Canadian Dragoons. The deaths brought the number of Canadian soldiers who have died in the Afghan mission to 116 since it began in 2002. (THE CANADIAN PRESS)

Just so damn funny!/s
Which is what libs do best....and this effort/campaign against Fox News is built on another lie....that a host who has always been a patriot is somehow mocking deaths of warriors in the WOT.
When of course anyone who watches the clip, and knows the date of the clip and the article (taking a year off) that was the subject of the discussion, will know this is another manufactured lie for antiwar/leftwing propaganda.
They did the same thing to Rush, and many others, same playbook, old story.
What’s not to make fun about?
It reads like a real apology, not the ‘if anyone was offended’ kinda BS.
That is a heck of a post, you really summed it up there.
kid show = kid WHO

Now Canada is dragging their liberalism over here and wasting our freeper time with it.
This whole contraversy is about FOX. The “outrage” started by left wing haters looking for something to blame on FOX NEWS. How many times does it have to be said, Greg did not mock dead Canadian soldiers. I just hope there aren’t any Belgians here.
Like political porn.....the lie is addicting.
