NEW YORK Robin Williams was recovering at the Cleveland Clinic after heart surgery that his doctors deemed successful, his publicists said Monday.
The 57-year-old actor had an operation to replace an aortic valve on March 13, publicists Mara Buxbaum and Chris Kanarick said. He was expected to make a complete recovery in the next eight weeks.
"His heart is strong and he will have normal heart function in the coming weeks with no limitations on what he'll be able to do," said Dr. A. Marc Gillinov, a cardiothoracic surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic. "A couple of hours after surgery, he was entertaining the medical team and making us all laugh."

If you need valve work, go to the Cleveland Clinic. I had a mitral valve repair there in 2005, and the surgeon was Dr. Gillinov. My cardiologist here in NJ said there are no other hospitals that can match Cleveland’s results in valve work. You can go anywhere for a bypass, go to Cleveland if you need a valve job.
It never ceases to amaze me...When some actor/comedian/whoever does something good, there's always some curmudgeon of a FReeper there to question their motivation and their politics. IMHO, If a man does a good thing, it doesn't necessarily make him a good man...but he's a better man for having done it.
He’s a tough ole boy! He’ll be up and “dwivin in his caw and listenen to the wadio vewy soon”
Williams has a fleeting connection to Canada. One of the badges he wore on his Mork outfit was from a Canadian talk show he appeared on early in his career. Virtually no American who watched Mork and Mindy would have recognized it but some Canadians might have like those who invented Trivial Pursuit.

You are not hospitalized since surgery on 3-13-09 for an uncomplicated “patient is doing very well” aortic valvae replacement. Usual length of stay is 3-5 days.

Oh yur a mean one , you are.
LOL
My kind of humor. ;-)
I must have been thinking of some one else or could have been the Trivial Pursuit game which I use to love to play..
Knowing Robin Williams, he probably suffers from fibrinous pericarditis.
That’s commonly known as “hairy heart” condition for you people in Rio Linda.
Best wishes for a full recovery. Mr. Williams has reduced me to tears and made my stomach hurt from laughter. He has also bored me to death with some of his endeavors. But we are all flawed human beings, and all in all, his balance sheet comes out in the black.
You were extremely fortunate that your aneurysms were found before it was too late. Sounds like you had some really great doctors. God was certainly looking after you, no question about that. My wife’s sister died of a heart attack not too long ago at the age of 42. Her doctor didn’t really think much about it when she complained of heart pain. Had they taken her more seriously she might be alive today. You are right, women need to pay heed to signs of a heart attack and demand that their doctor take them seriously. Glad it worked out for you! I agree with you, He still has something left for you to do. God bless!
FYI - Both my parents unfortunately "had to wait in line" for several months at the very same hospital for heart surgeries. One was a valve replacement, the other was to work on an atrial fibrillation issue.
So I don't know where this notion of Americans never having to wait months for surgery comes from.
I am wondering where in America you are talking about waiting in line..If that was really the case then you had better pray very hard we do not get Government Health care..or your parends might just not be seen at all..
As I said in previous post - Cleveland Clinic.
Texas has the best medical care in the world...I can not tell you the great care that I received from my heart doctors..They are very busy but still have that old time bed side manner..My Cardiologist came to see me every day and sat on the side of my bed holding my hand and just chatted with me.. With the Obama health plan we will be lucky if we make it..
