I voted so foolishly in the 1976 election that I didn’t trust myself to vote for another 20 years.

1976 was my first election as well. I recall not being too disappointed that Jimmy Carter was elected because I voted for Thomas Jefferson Anderson. So did 3,697 other people in my state.
