Is she going to get a plot of land ready to plant in, or is she going to start from scratch and do the digging and prep work herself? The pics show her raking a marked off area, but who is going to do the plowing and fertilizing to ready the earth? ? Just putting seed in that square plot ain’t gonna yield much.

I’m sure O will love to weed. Anything that will keep him from doing work in the Oval Office. Wait -— maybe I’d rather have him in the garden than doing the ‘work of the people’!

Good grief...the article I read the other day said that the staff will tend the garden. Now it’s the Obama family and school children? Even BO will help with the weeding???

I wonder if she’s going to give lessons on canning?

Oh, and are they vegetarians or will they have pigs, chickens, cows, etc?

Will they have a scarecrow to keep the birds away?

So that Wagu beef is going to graze on the lawn too?

I have news for you Zero. You don’t have enough grass to support a herd.

This whole episode reminds me of what happened on AF bases in 1974-1975. Blacks clamored for Soul Food to be offered in the commissaries throughout the USAF bases. So to comply, the commissary put an entire frozen line of black eyed peas, red beans, turnip greens, collard greens, fatback, chitterlings, bacon, and many other country fare items. It sat there for a year and the only ones buying the food were us poor white folks from the country. Finally, the commissary managers had to rethink their stocking for Soul food items. Its all show for the race of victims.

It is so easy for a woman who lives as a Queen is lecturing Americans to eat what you grow. In many areas it would cost much more than buying from the farmer’s market.
We always have a garden but would not have if we were on a tight budget.

4 pickup truck loads of compost a year to break up the clay
at 15.00 a truck load.

tomato plants (we don’t have a long enough growing season for seeds) are 2.98 -5.00 a piece.
other seeds 2.00 a pack
Increase in water bill (it is very dry here) is 20.00 per month.
Then there is bug spray, replanting if we get a really late frost and fertilizer.

We would have to spend alot on vegetables to make it worth doing it to save the environment or save money. That lady is in lala land.

On the other hand, we live in an area that has some of the best corn you will ever taste. Between Sakata farms and Olathe sweet corn, we eat our fill each summer. At 3.00 a dozen you can’t beat that. We have farmer’s markets with anything and everything you would want.

We are down to tomato plants, I can’t quite give it up, we have the luxury of growing our own because that is what it is here.

What a genius idea to put a beehive in the middle of the garden. I wonder if Michelle’s going to be picking any of that produce and dodging pi**ed off bees? Somehow, when she says “we are going to make our own honey”, I suspect she doesn’t actually mean “we”.

Let’s see, elementary school kids forced to prepare the ground, plant the crop, harvest the crop. I wonder how many child labor laws have been broken?

Before this administration vacates the premises, there’ll be junk cars propped up on concrete blocks and pigs and fowl scavenging about the White House.

The Clampetts were 100X more classy than this trashy pair.
