I’m trying to stay off the thread now, I SWEAR I AM! LOL
But, I wanted to tell you that indeed that DOES HAPPEN! I have PERSONALLY (face-to-face) spoken to at least 10 people who have discovered that the state on their adoption certificate was NOT the state they were born in. There have also been cases where even the DATE OF BIRTH has been altered. AND THIS HAS BEEN PROVEN to have happened IN the offices of vital statistics in various states over the years when some have gotten their records opened. I have exchanged communication with HUNDREDS of other adoptees who have found VERY strange things in relation to their adoptions...
It’s one of the dirty little secrets of the adoption industry... These laws ALSO give cover to unethical adoption agencies and brokers. Another unintended consequence of these laws.
I personally know of one person, who found out he was adopted, and then when he went to petition the court for his birth records they had NO RECORD that he had EVER even been BORN. He has NO CLUE where he came from — it’s as if he dropped out of the sky. Come to find out that his parents met some doctor on some street corner in Missouri and traded cash for him, and he CAME WITH A BIRTH CERTIFICATE (obviously COMPLETELY fraudulent).
His parents feel just awful about it now - wondering if his mother wanted to place him, or whether he was STOLEN. I don’t know all the details of why they did things the way they did - it was irresponsible, but they are hardly the only people who have done drastic things due to want of a child to love and take care of...

Dammit...you miss two days of Biology class and you miss the part about how one boy could have two dads...how does that work again.
Unfortunately, I too see thousands of dollars in this boys future being spent on therapy...sad. Selfish, and sad.
ADOPTION is a complicated thing.
Thankfully, God adopts us most fully into Jacob’s clan.
Into GOD’S OWN FAMILY.
I think most adoptive parents—particularly those well screened—really do the best they know to do.
Some had poor instructions and teaching. Some were misguided in their biases.
And some were even jerks and abusive.
Regardless of the abuse, the hurt, the pain, the trauma etc. . . .
sooner or later
IF WE WANT FORGIVEN, WE MUST FORGIVE UTTERLY, FULLY, THOROUGHLY, AND RELEASE THEM AND ALL THE PAIN TO GOD TOTALLY.
AND EVERY TIME SUCH THOUGHTS RETURN, REBUKE THEM, RESIST THEM, RECONFESS FORGIVENESS; RE ASK GOD TO MAKE THE FORGIVENESS THOROUGHLY REAL IN YOUR LIFE AND EMOTIONS . . . AND GO ON. PRAY FOR THE HORRIFIC PERSONS AS THOUGH RESCUING THEM FROM THE FIRES OF HELL.
ASK GOD TO PUT US INSIDE THEIR SKIN AND FEEL WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE THEM SUFFICIENTLY FOR US TO HAVE COMPASSION FOR THEM. ETC. ETC.

Christ died for each of us when we were lost in sin and unloveable in the natural.
All of us have had the potential to do any evil thing anyone else has done IF we’d had their context, their conditioning, their personalities etc.
WE HAVE NO GROUNDS . . . ABSOLUTELY NO GROUNDS OF ANY SIGNIFICANCE FROM WHICH TO BE HAUGHTY TOWARD ANYONE.
AND IT IS GREATLY SPIRITUALLY HAZARDOUS TO THINK OTHERWISE.
Yes, it’s horrific to be lied to by one’s primary care-givers—one’s parents. What else are they lying about. Are they lying about really loving me etc.
But most of them lie about adoption because they think that will insure more strongly that there’s NO DIFFERENCE in their relationship with the adopted child than if the child were naturally born because the child will know of no other reality. That’s not a bad desire or goal.
It’s just that the truth seldom stays hidden. And then the lie hurts more.
Nevertheless, FORGIVENESS IS THE ONLY ROUTE TO HEALING, WHOLENESS, HEALTH AND AN OVERCOMING LIFE.

It’s actually surfaced recently that the gay researchers researching homosexuals as parents doctored the data—left out data contradictory to their politics.

I may have missed that day in biology, but even with all the new fangled ways to get preggers, doesn't a woman still have to participate in some way?
In a no-win set of complicated stuff, I think that’s probably as workable a solution as can be had.

Nothing is going to come of lobbying nor of emotional rants nor of letter writing . . . etc.
until after Jesus sets up HIS government in Jerusalem—thankfully, not that far off.
It’s just getting there from here that’s the problem.
I understand your angst and anger about your rights etc. vis a vis your adoption.
This case is . . . a moot one.
NO one else in any officialdom is going to care a gnat’s fart’s worth about your angst or your anger.
Given the political forces afoot in the world . . . and the demonic forces . . . NOTHING you can do will alter the situation a gnat’s fart’s worth.
That’s just a fact.
The bureaucratic inertia alone would outlast any efforts you could mount far beyond the point when literal Armageddon will be upon us.
You may find some value in venting but most likely it’s merely winding you up to futility and further angst.
Let it go. Your points are valid.
And moot.
Nothing is going to change this side of Armageddon.
Accept it. Keep your powder dry and fight for KINGDOM ISSUES THAT ARE MORE CRUCIAL between now and then.

I’m sad you are so troubled about it. I’d love to heal it and wave a magic wand and make it go away.
Only Jesus can do that. And He requires that we give such to him totally . . . and quit obsessing over them if we want to truly be healed and relieved of the pain and angst.
It might be helpful to learn to appreciate that everything that’s touched our lives . . . He has or can and will use for our good. That’s HIS PROMISE TO US IN HIS WORD. So how can we lose.
We lose only when we maintain a death grip on the puss.

We are “damaged” from the moment they take us away from our biological mothers - a baby KNOWS - not to the point that we cannot overcome it and live good lives, but a successful outcome in adoptions REQUIRES TRUTH, and OPENNESS. As far as I’m concerned lying to a child about their adoptive status is CHILD ABUSE and NEGLIGENCE...
Oh, on more thing I’d like to take this opportunity to mention before I go...
Do you all realize that in not telling a child they are adopted, and not being honest with us about our biological origins can and HAS lead to people marrying their OWN SIBLINGS? Now, tell me how THAT is “natural” or MORAL... Some people might even argue that incest is an even BIGGER sin than Homosexuality. I certainly wouldn’t want to be responsible for allowing a situation like that to happen as a result of my being dishonest with my OWN CHILD!!!
TO ALL: I hope everyone on this thread has a wonderful weekend, and I again would simply ask that you might take a few moments to reflect on what I’ve said here. Adoptees needlessly suffer because of these laws, and in the case of medical issues some have even DIED BECAUSE OF THESE LAWS!

I would also like to say — just to be clear on this — that I am NOT AGAINST (Heterosexual) adoption! I simply want the laws to respect the rights of ALL parties - and frankly, the rights of the ADOPTEE should trump ALL others in this case, especially once they become an adult.
