The first appearance by a sitting president on "The Tonight Show" may well end up being the last.
President Obama, in his taping with Jay Leno Thursday afternoon, attempted to yuk it up with the funnyman, and ended up insulting the disabled.
Towards the end of his approximately 40-minute appearance, the president talked about how he's gotten better at bowling and has been practicing in the White House bowling alley.
He bowled a 129, the president said.
"That's very good, Mr. President," Leno said sarcastically.
It's "like the Special Olympics or something," the president said.
When asked about the remark, the White House said the president did not intend to offend.
"The president made an off-hand remark making fun of his own bowling that was in no way intended to disparage the Special Olympics," White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton said. "He thinks the Special Olympics is a wonderful program that gives an opportunity for people with disabilities from around the world."
Facing tough questions about the performance of his Treasury Secretary, $165 million in bonuses for AIG officials and anticipating a fight over his $3.55 trillion budget, the president has not had a particularly good week, and it's unlikely this will help matters.

Surprising since he really went after Bush. But, I think he is more attune to bias since the President is Dem, so he is trying harder.

Obama is an idiot in all other aspects, but I kinda chuckled at this, admittedly. Who can’t enjoy a good “poke fun at retards” joke once in awhile? Damn political correctness.
We don’t have to worry about a terrorist attack...we will just cannabalize ourselves while the terrorist sit back with popcorn in hand and watch the comedy show.....sigh.

Unfortunately, it would behoove a number of Freepers to take this seriously.
Not only would I be thrilled to see Governor Palin replace the Socialist-in-Chief, but I'd consider Trig Palin a huge step up in all respects from the disappointment we're stuck with. Obama clearly enjoys making fun of Trig, so I'll be emailing him tonight to let him know that I see him as far lower than the youngest target of his attack machine. We know what Obama and his people think of Trig, so they'll get the message when I (truthfully) tell them that Barack Obama is less qualified than that particular exceptionally cute baby.

Obama only wishes he could bowl like the Special Olympics.
I’ve worked with Special Olympics since I was a teenager. I also have two kids who are SO athletes. We are an SO family....competing, coaching, volunteering, and giving all of our spare time to the organization. I’ve seen some SO athletes that can bowl and 3-point his sorry ass into the ground. A 129, for alot of SO athletes, is a bad day. Its time that this idea, that SO athletes are somehow by definition poor athletes, should be stomped into the ground.

You know, when people like you or our president make comments like that, its another swipe at taking their dignity. That’s the entire reason why he’s in the hot seat right now......because he failed to see that there are people in this world for whom this is their life, they didn’t choose it, and for you or anyone else to use it as an opportunity to insult someone just makes their world harder to live in.

The Obamanation has a deeply imbued sense of his own smug superiority, brilliance, and super-human worth to the world.
I have known plenty of people like him, before I got myself away from the Harvard world, and Obambi is one of the worst.
Quips smearing “Special Olympics” competitors come so easily to him because his mental world is consumed with his own self-importance and the inferiority of just about everyone else.
He is an extreme narcissist and egomaniac, and everyone else is just there for his own gratification.
If a R. President uttered such a slur against the Special Olympians the lib outrage would be never ending, and all of the Shriver/Kennedy family members would be trotted out to keep the heat on (Sargent Shriver was a founder of the Special Olympics). As it is Obambi saying this, the libs in the media will try hard to give him a pass.
