Called my newbie congressman rooney. Voted yes. She asked what my issue was particularly with bill, when I asked why he voted yes.
I told her that the word mandatory when paired with volunteering, was an oxymoron. you cannot volunteer when it is mandated. It is slavery, constription, or serfdom. I also told her to make sure, as a newbie, he has his lawyers explain all the words in a bill so meaning can be determined. That the fact that we have a president with a socialistic agenda, as well as people like pelosi in the house, that he should be sure that any bill that comes across his desk does not further their cause or to vote against it. I explained that socialism is NOT something we wake up and decide we want to be, it is created by a word here and a word there in bill after bill, and one day we wake up to find out we ARE socialists, or worse.
She said, wow, I don’t think he even looked at it that way, I will definately let him know, and seemed profoundly disturbed at the possiblity. I asked if she had had many calls about this yet, and she said no. I said the voting record has been posted so be prepared, but calls to the senate were more important right this minute as they were voting next. I did tell her it was unlikely they would vote it through, but next time he should be more careful what he attaches his name to. Rookies.......
