Senate Banking committee Chairman Christopher Dodd told CNNs Dana Bash and Wolf Blitzer Wednesday that he was responsible for adding the bonus loophole into the stimulus package that permitted AIG and other companies that received bailout funds to pay bonuses.

So when is Barry going to give back his $101,000 AIG bonus?
90% of the aig bonus go to foreing citizens
“Dodd told CNN he did not speak to high-ranking administration officials and the change came after his staff spoke with staffers from Treasury. The White House did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment”
Sheesh, so it was all the staffers doing..yeah, right...
Now Dodd wants to blame Geithner!
Let the dominoes fall...LOL
Dodd hasn’t told the truth about his “cottage” in Ireland, or his preferential mortgages in the USA. His father was drummed out of politics, and now let us hope it is the son’s turn.
Circular firing squad.
Say, who signed the bill? Was that President Chris Dodd??

In an apparent change of his position, U.S. Sen. Christopher Dodd said Wednesday that he was aware of changes in legislation for a loophole that allowed highly controversial bonuses for AIG, the embattled insurance company that has received federal bailout money.
In a live interview on CNN, Dodd said, “I agreed to a modification in the legislation, reluctantly.’’
Previously, Dodd had said he was not a member of the conference committee that crafted the final version of the highly complicated bill. But he had come under strong fire from Republicans and others as the person who was involved in what CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer had called a “mysterious loophole’’ in the legislation.
When Blitzer asked Dodd what had changed in his understanding between Tuesday and Wednesday, Dodd replied, “Going back and reviewing it. ... I apologize if we had some confusion.’’

Maybe this is how they plan to get rid of the disaster that is Geithner.
Could this be an orchestrated back stabbing maneuver by the rats.
“Dodd, and Pelosi and Fwank are all vying for top spot on that list.”
I think they all hold #1 spot equally. Throw in Teddy, too. I think it would be great if he died in disgrace, and an arrest would help with that.
The US government has absolutely no right - no right - to reclaim a contractually promised compensation payment from a private business to a private citizen.
Period. End of story.
If they get away with confiscating these bonuses, we will witness another step towards totalitarianism in America.

U.S. Sen. Christopher Dodd’s already got quite a track record of ducking and weaving...
Mortgages, what mortgages?
Erin go — what Ireland cottage?
Iowa? The Hawkeye state is just a temporary residence, my friends.
But after the slick Senator spent the day insisting he had nothing to do with giving those AIG guys those fat bonuses — ridiculous, he said — he finally fessed up to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. Read all about it here.
Turns out Dodd was part of the committee that crafted a bill that allowed the companies to give out the big bucks, after all.
“I apologize if we had some confusion.”
No confusion Senator.
You’re down for the count — and amazingly, you knocked yourself out.
The alternative was to admit that clauses enter legislation on their own volition and that is a much bigger can of worms. A critical press will rip him a new one on his original “what, I didn’t write that!” stand. Too bad we don’t have one in the mainstream media markets.
Chris Dodd is Senator from Connecticut and lots of Wall Street workers and top executives live in Connecticut. Dodd made sure his people were taken care of at the expense of the American taxpayer. Perhaps he was urged to (bribed even) by some of these top executives. Merrill Lynch paid out 4 billion in bonuses last December and that was also taxpayer money
So is Dodd going to commit Hairy Kerry with all the AIG execs like Senator Grassley demanded?
Wow, Dodd admits he was repsonsible!
He is the product of the American population. Do not plan on improvement. He will legalize the Mexicans before 2010 and that will be that. I am plaaning my escape to lower lattitudes.
