Bosnia was a bloody vicious ethnic civil war, with horrific atrocities on ALL sides (ghastly photo warning). But WHAT BOSNIA WASN'T was was "6 million Jewish civilians (and 700,000 Serbs) being marched off to deathcamps" for no reason, other than they existed. Check the year, moron. 1961 -- the height of communism in Yugoslavia and Cosic was a communist then, so it was to his advantage (and Tito's) to construct a view of Tito's enemies (the Serb Cetniks) that was as ugly & twisted as possible. What you underestimate "nameless" is how long this subject has been discussed and the level of detail it has been discussed at. You can't expect to show up three weeks ago, slap a bunch of lazy exaggerated propaganda crap on the wall, and expect to have any credibility with anyone here.
My interest in this is not what you think. It is an argument that the US had no business and still has no business intervening in the Balkans on ANY SIDE, period -- especially when we are getting lied to about the context and events on the ground. We had enormous opportunities for real diplomacy to have prevented these wars, but those in "the International Community", including our own State Department, didn't want a peaceful resolution, they wanted "an outcome" of divided ethnic states. And the only way to get that was to have these horrific wars that produced ethnic "good guys" and "bad guys", and then exaggerate the acts of the "bad guys" to justify anything we do to them.
We've entrusted our national security (and our Balkan policy) to a bunch of third-rate State Department hacks who want to run the world, but who in real life could successfully run a single 7-11. May God Save us all from these narcissistic careerist traitors to what America stands for!
