So if I’m stupid and reckless, does this mean I can get a cool job reading and writing? Where do I sign up? This sounds great! We should all do it.

That means, on average, each household carries about $11,000 on credit cards alone, never mind mortgages and other ongoing financial commitments.

I don't know anybody with that much credit card debt.

Is there anybody here who has that much? I have zero.

yes unfortunately. Hubby out of work for several months after our small business failed. I am not filing bankruptcy, it was my choice to start the business, and we will work night and day and live very small until they are paid back. It totally sucks, but I am glad we tried to do it.

I first cast about for ways to bring home the bacon that didn't involve hard work.

I've found one of his problems.

Leftist liar

He lives in San Francisco, he lets his wife support him, he thinks so highly of himself that he imagines people would pay to listen to him tell stories, and he wants to "work" by reading and writing. What do you expect?

All I know is, if he'd been married to me while all this was going on, he wouldn't be anymore.

Whiny deadbeat. The fruit of his irresponsibility should haunt him until his death.

And ours are with you. Thank you. We have a good life. We are healthy, our kids are as well. And the truly bright spots in my life right now, besides my faith and hubbys new job(woo hoo) is my oldest son is getting married to a lovely girl in January and my middle son is going into seminary the following Sept. All costs for seminary are being borne by the parish/diocese. God is truly good, and I think we all needed a swift kick in the butt to remind us all to live like you. We did for many years, but the company just killed that. We always bought a fixer upper home, much less than we could afford, always buy used cars, and shop frequently at good will and garage sales. It has always been our nature. God will see us through it all, and prayers like yours just keep bttt of His list for us :)

The plastic camp shoved a bill through the 2005 Congress, gifting the credit card companies by screwing the consumer. George Bush, no doubt, took enormous delight in inking this class war declaration.

Bush and Joe Biden. It's too bad neither one of those idiots tried to lower bankruptcies with pro growth economic policies.

“you could be tortured...”

What crap. Yeah, the jails are full of all the people who stopped paying their mortgages. What do you think the huge prison construction programs over past decade were for?

Now that I think of it, all the secret rendition prisons were made for those with too much credit card debt, too. Look at all the people who have disappeared from the streets and tortured for running up CC bills.

The ones that SHOULD be tortured for running up debts we can’t pay are the Dems in Congress.

That this pinhead ended up in bankruptcy is no surprise.

The bankruptcy ‘reform’ was designed to bail out credit card lenders at the expense of real estate lenders. We can see how that worked out.

Be not afraid, I go before you always, come follow Me, and I will give you rest.

It is times like this that those who have taken the time to cultivate their faith through steady practice, don’t quite feel like the floor is falling out from under them, even though it seems like it is. Chin up, head down, foxholes deep, pray.......

You are right though, scary times indeed.....

The San Jose Metro is one of those free "newspapers" chock full of Leftist invective, lots of massage parlor ads, unfunny comics, and movie time listings.

It's so bad that it makes the SJ Murky News look professional by comparison

I thought he did an excellent job of telling his story and how he is now living within his means. Sounds like this guy could be a potential conservative.

P. Joseph Potocki....Geez what a putz.

This turd sold this article...only in Kalifornia. I am sure his ass is asleep in his modest home after a nice vegan dinner and a nice $10.00 bottle of wine. He is actually proud of himself for being such a loser with a nice working wife to keep him fed.
