That means, on average, each household carries about $11,000 on credit cards alone, never mind mortgages and other ongoing financial commitments. I don't know anybody with that much credit card debt.
Is there anybody here who has that much? I have zero.

yes unfortunately. Hubby out of work for several months after our small business failed. I am not filing bankruptcy, it was my choice to start the business, and we will work night and day and live very small until they are paid back. It totally sucks, but I am glad we tried to do it.

Unfortunately, yes, about 30k worth, due to a combination of being unemployed for 14 months and getting married. Working hard to get this all paid off, however. Wife and I both have good jobs and are paying it off at the rate of approx. 1k/month..debt free in 3 years, baby!
