WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance.

I am not sure there would be an organized resistance of any kind no matter what they do. I think they could announce the rounding up of conservative christians for concentration camps and no real action would be made to stop it

I’m still annoyed at the Veterans’s preference. The last two guys we hired were forced on us because of their Vet status and, as good as folks as they are, and really, I do like them a lot, they are dumb as dirt. We all look at each other and say “these guys were allowed to play with guns?” This is job that requires a fairly large amount of smarts and well, one guy didn’t know how to use a computer...at all... but is expected to award construction contracts.

If the Vet Preference is going to be used, make sure the Vet really is qualified for the job. Then I could support it all the way.

I am employed with health insurance. When I go to the VA they routinely bill my private carrier.

The same is true for active duty dependents using military facilities.
