WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance.

Won’t ever happen. The kept public servants are mostly like true sheep. Contented to munch on the grass and be left alone. They vote in line as long as they are paid. Their quest is all about big and bigger government. It is good for their business.
I was in a govt office the other day...depressing. I saw a lot of empty desks, people milling around without too much purpose, lots of democrats, ineptness in menial jobs. A kept and subhuman condition.
They do not bill for Service Connected Disability care; only for additional care.
Yep...just like they do it, today. Add this legislative sewage to some other popular bill as an amendment. A prime reason for my recommendation that Congressional rules be amended to require that ALL amendments to ANY piece of legislation MUST DIRECTLY BEAR ON THE SUBJECT OF THE PRIMARY BILL.
That would stop tripe such as this, and the other use of amendments...to get support from Reps and Senators who may be inclined to vote against the primary focus of a bill by adding amendments that those same Reps and Senators WILL support.

I have a 50% SC disability and the VA makes money on me from my private insurance, BCBS FEP, each and every time I go there even for the disability treatment. They get $51 for each RX, their charge for a specialist is twice what a private practitioner gets and they’ve instituted a facilities fee in addition to the clinic and/or physicians fee. I called BCBS about this facilities fee last month, but was told that other hospitals charge it and they pay it; they were unconcerned.
Shinseki doesn’t know WTH is going on inside his own department.
They bill and get paid for the medications for my SC disability.

So now the Democrats want to outsource "support for the troops" to private insurers? What happens when they get their insurance dropped?

I took my father to the VA clinic a lot. He was not poor. He just preferred the place. Liked the doctors and liked the ambiance

My son in law was injured in Iraq serving this country and now he will have to pay again! BUT we will continue to pay for every pregnant Maria who waddles across our southern border to give birth and ever Julio or Luis who is injured here while working illegally on a job.
I think you have just nailed it. This is part of an attempt to drive everyone into the arms of government healthcare. No private insurer is going to dream of insuring service related injuries, and Bambi knows it.

I’d be surprised if this gets passed out in the open. It’s completely indefensible. They’d bury it in an Omnibus bill if they really wanted to go after it. That way it would get passed without open discussion or debate.
