The tax laws in this country have been punishing married couples for a very long time.
That doesn’t make it right, but Obama is not the first to propose it, OR follow through with it. We can thank our past Congresses for that.

I just saw this morning a news story about couples who divorce but now “agree” to live in the same house together because of the current economic situation it’s cheaper to do so.
I thought, How odd-if they can stand to live together, then why be divorced?
Then I see this.
I wonder how many of them are simply utilizing the tax tactic explained in the article?

The rich can afford better guns. They can even pay people to use them on the angry mob that attacks with pitchforks and torches.
Many of the haloed one’s supporters are singles earning upwards of 100-200K. Obama dare not punish them so instead of starting this tax for singles at 120K he holds off till 200K. If he were interested in a fair distribution an increase at the 120K level would raise enough cash to allow a lower than 39% rate. But then his single yuppie followers would howl. As for married folks. They voted for McCain, including women so who cares about them.

This will only drive previously honest people to work in cash and only report a small part of it and stash the rest.
We do not have to abide by this stupidity, we the taxpayers have a right to say NO.
It is time for a Tax Revolt.
More people than you can imagine get divorced or do not marry in the first place because by being married and combining incomes, government benefits for them or their children (health care, remedial help in school, etc.) would be curtailed.
Sad state of affairs, but that’s what big government social engineering does to people.
All of these “limits” are a lie!
EVERYBODY making over $100,000 (single or married) will see their taxes increase!
Don’t look for this in writing and don’t wait for anybody to admit it out loud.
This simple fact is that socialists like Obama will not rest until they have destroy the fabric of the privated sector.
This is a key componet in making the majority of Americans dependent upon government for their livelyhood.
In about 2 or so years we will be reading about the divorce “epidemic” in this country. Panels of experts on the tube will be scratching theirs heads over why.

We just finished doing our 2008 taxes. I’m 58 and she’s 50. She has a good job with 3 more years to retire and we use her medical insurance. I, on the other hand, am a construction rat and make quite a bit of money as a Project Manager. We have absolutely no debt whatsoever...even our house and land are paid off. After reviewing our Fed tax liability for last year, we have come to the conclusion that I should only work part-time or under half of the year until she retires. It no longer benefits us for me to work more than that as I’m only working to pay the govt. With these new the new Kenyan Usurper taxes, it only exacerbates it even more so I’m quitting work in July and will only work part-time after that. I will take a menial “cash-only” job for fun money. The govt and tax system can stuff up their butts....we ain’t working to be payin’ the big money to the govt. anymore.
That would be a real stretch of the imagination for me and venturing into a realm I dare not go! LOL! (I be's a girl.)
But I do hear what you're saying. This current administration is trying like hell to make us all criminals one way or another, they just don't have all the crimes lined out yet.
