Comments about her lack of self control aren’t catty.

Yes, they are both idiots.

But she is the highly visible and newsworthy daughter of the governor and a member of a responsible family.
She had much more to lose and should have considered the impact of her actions on her family.

Should he be/have been more responsible?
Sure - but you can look at his background and figure the odds are against it.

He walks away and she is left impregnated, no husband and now with a fatherless baby to raise.

Unfortunately, that is a function of nature, and pointing out that the man is just as responsible for the fallout of premarital sex doesn’t change the fact that the woman is the one that gets left with a baby in her womb.

A catty, insensitive comment if I ever read one. Kids today are pushed into sex prematurely. Bristol Palin was not immune to it, and in this seemingly consequence free world in which we live, like ever other teen her age, Bristol was not considering the consequences seriously enough.

It is a sad state affairs, but I'm not going to make Bristol more accountable than the rest of her peers in the current sexually charged climate.

Just think if she had aborted the baby, like the daughter of a pro-choice politician most likely do. We wouldn't even be having this discussion.
