My brain helps me hear birds singing.

Are the birds phantoms of my imagination?

ABG-Anything But God.

Reducing it to genetics takes away free will, accountability, responsibility, even the truth of it all. God then becomes a man-made construct.

For all the evos/atheists dogmatic insistence that that religion has no place in science, they sure don’t seem to mind making sure that science has a place in religion and trying to reduce religion to some kind of scientifically determined consequence of the natural world.

If philosophy is not part of science, then why to they keep trying to rein philosophy in under the purview of science and reduce it to a mere mechanistic function?

“How Your Brain Creates God”

Didn’t Jesus say God is Life Itself? The animating principle of the universe...

My cat believes in God. She thinks that God is She. I think she has a good point.

Leftwing brains created “global warming” so it’s something to think about.

which should be a mutated weakness, as it detracts form the SOTF notions.

Makes one wonder how/why such a mutation wasn't bred out through the (insert Carl Sagan voice) biiilllions and biiilllions of years

If true, then why do so many struggle with faith? And why are there atheists? I guess this means atheists really are evolutionary throw-backs.

Well, let’s get God’s “side” here, for what He has to say about this... :-)

Romans 1:16-32

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,

23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,

25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.

27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,

30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;

32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

I think God has stated the case against those others, quite well...

So now God has been reduced to a brain fart??

If my brain created God, who created my brain??

If my brain created God, how come others believe in Him then??

So you're saying Jihad is all in the Muzzie’s head?? Can their brain create the 72 virgins too?? (I'll convert if that's true)

Will we change oaths? I swear to tell the truth so help me brain fart

Then we have the money thing: In brain fart we trust

Rev Wright: brain fart damn Amerika!!!

The pledge: One nation under brain fart

OMG becomes OMBF

Yeah....I'm just not feeling this sciencey vibe....then again maybe it's all in my head. Brain fart help me.

OK, so let's assume this is true for the sake of argument. Conclusion? Science is undermining a capability that humans evolved for a useful reason. Science also undermines human reproduction by using birth control to detach sexual urges from having children, leaving much of the Western World with a birth rate well below replacement. Science has also allowed us to create weapons that can kill hundreds of thousands or even millions in one shot and to create diseases and poison gasses that can all kill in large numbers. Science also allows those who would die in a more competitive world to live and pass on their genes to others. The logical conclusion, from a purely evolutionary perspective? Science is an evolutionary dead end that thwarts natural selection, undermines the utility of traits that humans evolved over millions of years, and, if followed, will make humans extinct. And as an added bonus, it tells you that your life is fleeting and meaningless. So what's not to like about it?

Let me get this straight... evolution created a brain to believe in God because that ensured the survival of the fitest, but there is no God? And the big bang created everything from nothing, but there is no God? My head hurts. Does science have a golden idol I can worship?
