Sen. Specter says he's trying to lead the Republican Party |
U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (R-Pa) talked with WILK's Nancy and Kevin this morning about the economy, healthcare reform, his opinion on Rush Limbaugh, and the leader of the Republican Party. Specter criticized RNC Chairman Michael Steele on his recent flip-flop concerning comments about Rush Limbaugh. When asked who's leading Republicans, Senator Specter laughed and said he was trying to lead them, "moving toward the center, where American's want to be governed." Specter was also critical of the man he'll face again in his next re-election campaign, Pat Toomey. He said Toomey was a man who argued for deregulation of Wall Street, and is a 'part of the problem' we're facing now. To hear the full interview, click here. |
Arlen, as well as anybody, should know the danger of accepting "a little bit of cancer".
That's it. I'm outta the republican party. Specter? Please. How much lower can the Republicans go? Next obomba will be claiming to be running the RNC. What's sad is the way things are going I'm more inclined to think obomba IS running the Republican party.
A real leader wouldn´t put out a statement saying he was “trying to lead” as if people weren´t playing fair, because he deserved it. They would be out there in the font lines, confronting the competition, and standing up for the people they represent...no wonder Obama deemed Limbaugh the leader of the opposition.
Real leaders don´t ask to lead, they´re asked to lead. (See “George Washington” for further information on this subject)
Its time to form the Party of Reagan and that would not include socialism or socialism lite.
Over a clif, he will
Lead the party to permanent minority status, you mean.
What planet is this character from?
Specter, you are done! Just leave like an a@@ that you are.
hell no Arlen!
I didnt want to be a negotiator, but no other Republican stepped forward. And our economic problems are enormously serious more serious than is publicly disclosed. And I think were on the brink of a depression.

How right you are. This clown can’t even lead himself to the HEAD let alone a political party.
If that jerk Specter leads the Republican Party, count me out. I utterly despise that spineless fake of a human.
“Lead?” You two faced, self-important, arrogant, traitor and sell-out artist! If Mitchie had a spine he’d have thrown you off of the Judiciary committee long ago. The only thing you’re capable of leading is a microphone to your face.
I admire Bob Dole a great deal, even though Dole is not a big Reagan fan.
Spector? Hard to tell him from Frank Marshall Davis, Obama, Sebelius and others who have lived here, for awhile.
You know I've thought the same thing my entire life.
If someone is asked to take a leadership position, it should
come as a surprise to that person...I believe.
It has always seemed to me that someone who is outwardly
seeking a leadership position has an ulterior motive.
“Soon, youll be long forgotten, Senator.”
Did you know Spector was the guy who developed the magic bullet theory for the Warren Report? He’ll be remembered for that gem.
“Specter, you dope, citizens in the US are not governed. Ours is a government of the people, for the people, by the people, and we hire our elected representatives to do what we deem to be right in making laws for our country. Unfortunately, some of you who have been in D.C. so long that you have forgotten who is serving who. You should have been fired long ago.”
I was going to make much the same comment, but you said it first, and probably better than my attempt would have been. Specter’s RINOism notwithstanding, this is really the problem with ALL the senaturds - they have forgotten that they represent citizens and states, and who is their boss.
Who the hell is this guy talking about? What Americans? I don't want to be in any way, close to the brain dead left. Go away Specter.
