Sen. Specter says he's trying to lead the Republican Party |
U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (R-Pa) talked with WILK's Nancy and Kevin this morning about the economy, healthcare reform, his opinion on Rush Limbaugh, and the leader of the Republican Party. Specter criticized RNC Chairman Michael Steele on his recent flip-flop concerning comments about Rush Limbaugh. When asked who's leading Republicans, Senator Specter laughed and said he was trying to lead them, "moving toward the center, where American's want to be governed." Specter was also critical of the man he'll face again in his next re-election campaign, Pat Toomey. He said Toomey was a man who argued for deregulation of Wall Street, and is a 'part of the problem' we're facing now. To hear the full interview, click here. |
Is this kinda like herding cats?
Arlen Spector, Ira Einhorn’s lawyer after Einhorn murdered Holly Maddox and stuffed her in a trunk then went on the lam and lived it up in Ireland and France for 20 years.
I’m not one of the people that think that some murderers, like Einhorn and OJ, Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot deserve lawyers or “representation”.
As former LA Chief Of Police, Ed Davis once said of airplane hijackers: “Give them a quick trial, and hang em at the airport”.
Spector is a weenie.
Has anyone told Scotland?
Lead them to their doom, maybe.
It’s frigging RINO season this election cycle. I can’t wait.
Specter is a horrible p.o.s. rino turd.
Leader?
Man’s off his medication again.
I heard Specter say “bleed” the republican party.
As much as I admire President Reagan and his principles, I am against naming a political party or movment after people. That has been done too many times by tyrants and their toadies.
Principles are what we follow, not people.
Just leave us, Senator. We never knew ya.
Arlen Spector is an enabler of the incompetence of which we have witnessed in Washington D.C. for far too many years. That is not leadership.
He’ll lead me when pigs fly.
“Sen. Specter says he’s trying to lead the Republican Party”
Right off a cliff.
Porkulus ... Omnibus ... Card Check ....
Card Check under fire in the Senate

Republican Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania is another key member who is wavering. Though he voted with Democrats in 2007, he now says, Im still thinking about it. He added, Im being lobbied on it very, very heavily.

I feel good about it, Durbin said. A number of Republicans have indicated that with the amendments that they requested, theyll be able to consider it.
Specifically, GOP Sens. Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Kit Bond of Missouri may be thawing their opposition to the bill. Grassley told The Hill on Monday that he is undecided on the cloture vote, and Bond dodged the question.
Openly and honestly, Bond joked when asked how he will vote. Well find out for sure tomorrow.
Crossover support could also come from Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.); a senior GOP aide said he would be surprised if Bond and Specter dont support the omnibus. Support from Floridas other senator, Republican Mel Martinez, could also come because of the Cuba provision concessions, as well as from Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), who had also announced opposition because of the provisions.
Specter, you loon, you are going to lose to Toomey. You stabbed Republicans in the back. Lead the party, my ass. I voted for you over Toomey last time — never again. I hope you realize your vote on Stimulus sealed your retirement, you old man.
I wonder if Arlen knows what a Judas goat is?
Na Na Na Na Hey Heyeyyyyy Good Bye.
Mr. Steele if you have your minions lurking about please take note:
Specter and Snowe are the two biggest reasons I do NOT donate to the RNC.
And I rightfully just tossed mail from the RNC in the trash unopened because of leaders like Specter.
I swear literally all these politicians are mentally ill.
[he’s trying to lead the Republican Party]
Hey Senator Sphincter, look behind ya’ and see how THAT’S working out for ya’.
>>>[Arlen] said Toomey was a man who argued for deregulation of Wall Street, and is a ‘part of the problem’ we’re facing now. <<<
What a dumb ass. It was government regulation, Arlen, in the form of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), that caused the problem. The CRA (or more appropriately named, the Homes for Deadbeats Act) was used to force banks and other lending institutions into giving home loans to deadbeats.
