'Obama is overwhelmed.' (Obama ally says he's "too tired")
National Review ^ | Sunday, March 08, 2009 | Jim Geraghty

Perhaps it's just some Obama ally speaking out of school. But these are probably some of the most terrifying words to come from an unidentified source in some time:

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.

Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president's surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk.

A well-connected Washington figure, who is close to members of Mr Obama's inner circle, expressed concern that Mr Obama had failed so far to "even fake an interest in foreign policy".

The American source said: "Obama is overwhelmed. There is a zero sum tension between his ability to attend to the economic issues and his ability to be a proactive sculptor of the national security agenda.

"That was the gamble these guys made at the front end of this presidency and I think they're finding it a hard thing to do everything."

It's at moments like this I'm reminded of this assessment of Obama, back in 2007: "I think he can be ready, but right now I don't believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training."

That assessment came from . . . Vice President Joe Biden.

It's 3:00 A.M. The White House emergency phone rings.
Obama answers: "What, you need me now? You know I'm exhausted. Can't you let me rest and --- Call Hillary!"

It hasn’t even been 50 days yet. Only about 1400 more to go.

True, I wasn’t so much voicing my opinion to you, as the MSM and his supporters. It’s amazing how much of a break they give him and how weak it makes our country look when they discuss how tired he is. But, it is certainly good to see a glimpse of reality from time to time. I pray for more reality. Anyway, I wasn’t trying to be hard on you.

Timothy Geithner, alone and working night and day

The Obama machine is playing with the press. It's all they're good at.

Maybe he should have showed up in Washington more than once in a while, so he could have learned how things are run. His huge ego, his speechwriters and his beloved Teleprompters had people believing, including himself, that he could walk on water.

I fear an attack on American shores this year and am truly fearful of his response or lack of response. I think the later is probable.

If you recall, during last year's debates, he was asked what he would do if we were attacked.

His respnse was "I would send in FEMA".

Senate position does not prepare you for an executive job.

He was AWOL from the US Senate. No sooner did he get there that he starts running for president. Two terms in the Senate would have been very helpful experience

0bamamy's forte is talking big, demagoguery and conning people
Real work and being an executive is foreign to him

Wasn’t it just a week into the job that he and wifey couldn’t stand being cooped up in the Whitehouse and went out for a photo-op at a local school. I really don’t think he had any idea what his responsibilities would entail and that he would be required to sit with advisors and make decisions most of the day.

” I fear an attack on American shores this year and am truly fearful of his response or lack of response.”

A friend asked me if I was a terrorist, when would I attack ?
I said-during the NBA finals ??
He felt they would wait until Zero has had enough time to sufficiently degrade the military.
Everyone expects an attack and
no one expects Obama to defend the United States.

The real reason BO is falling apart, he needs those Cool Cigs more than anything else. I think Obama would be happier if he could just move on up to another job where he doesn’t have to make decisions or be responsible for them, someplace where he can still be the headline entertaniment to his adoring public...maybe a job like Rev. Wright’s in one of the big city BLT Churches.
Another benefit is he would be able to smoke with less scrutiny and he would only have to work on Sunday!
