'Obama is overwhelmed.' (Obama ally says he's "too tired")
National Review ^ | Sunday, March 08, 2009 | Jim Geraghty

Perhaps it's just some Obama ally speaking out of school. But these are probably some of the most terrifying words to come from an unidentified source in some time:

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.

Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president's surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk.

A well-connected Washington figure, who is close to members of Mr Obama's inner circle, expressed concern that Mr Obama had failed so far to "even fake an interest in foreign policy".

The American source said: "Obama is overwhelmed. There is a zero sum tension between his ability to attend to the economic issues and his ability to be a proactive sculptor of the national security agenda.

"That was the gamble these guys made at the front end of this presidency and I think they're finding it a hard thing to do everything."

It's at moments like this I'm reminded of this assessment of Obama, back in 2007: "I think he can be ready, but right now I don't believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training."

That assessment came from . . . Vice President Joe Biden.

If he’s so tired maybe he should resign. Or impeached. Whichever.

We need a president who is up for the job. Obama just can’t handle it.

At this point, I wouldn’t care if Biden took credit for the recovery. Heck, it might even be true: “I let the country’s economic engines sort themselves out, rather than try to fix them myself. I knew what really needed to be done”. All I want is for there to be a recovery, which doesn’t seem imminent with Mr. “took a break after one week because I’m tired of the White house/Took a vacation less than a month into the job”.

I could see Biden being better than Hussein, he might be the type to sit in the oval office and eat twinkies and let country recover on its own.

Biden would talk! But, unless he became overly inspired by "Hail to the Chief", he would do little else.

The country could stand a little "benign neglect" right now.

Hummmmmmmmm. I remember using that excuse. What it stood for was that I had over indulged just a tad. I’m wondering if it works for BO.

If this creep goes down we have Biden to deal with...which may or not be an easier deal.

The lines of authority will be clearer with Joe. Just lobby his kids if you want something done.

What must our soldiers think when they hear this? Their CIC is tired from partying and eating $100/lb steak while they are living in barracks and fighting Muslims. BO has no class. He acts like those rappers with all their bling.

how do we get a line on Intrade etc. for when 0bama melts down live on camera when he's ask a question he has no answer to or has a real nervous breakdown when he finally realizes how completely out of his league he is as Putin, China and Iran walk all over him and he is declared non compos mentis...

Obamessiah has an excuse to justify his actions evert time he screws up! I don’t, for one minute, believe Obama was too tired when Brown was here. This IS the man who works out so much that he walked on the beach in HI so he could show off his “pecs.” That tells us he is in good shape. We all know that exercize reduces stres, so his claim is just more proof of Barack Obama’s habitual lying!

He'll die of a heart attack first. We're just discussing the ways he might leave. He may have a heart attack. His fellow Party members may consent to his impeachment if they go down first. He could go mad on the job and Biden will have to step in. He could have an accident, though the Secret Service would try hard not to let that happen. Good Lord, I'm looking forward to a Biden Administration?

Obviously, the solution here is to have MULTIPLE presidents. Didn’t Carter suggest this? It would work like this: each “President” would be “in charge” of a segment of the Government, like Defense, Foreign Policy, Education, or Health and Human Services. They would make all the hard calls in those areas. Then they could just keep the actual President informed in staff meetings. Or, he could just hire a meeting Czar (chief of Staff if you will) to sit in for him on these staff meetings (to make sure everything is okay. This would allow him to party all night, go to the gym, do some shopping, and give occasional speeches. Sound good?

Won't happen. Why do you think his staff is spending so much time lugging around teleprompters? He even uses them to answer questions from the press.

>He’s always referring to his appointees as “my” new [whatever], not “our nation’s new ——.<

It’s because he is right — they’re all in his pocket doing his bidding.
