A federal judge on Thursday threw out a lawsuit questioning President Barack Obama's citizenship, lambasting the case as a waste of the court's time and suggesting the plaintiff's attorney may have to compensate the president's lawyer. In an argument popular on the Internet and taken seriously practically nowhere else, Obama's critics argue he is ineligible to be president because he is not a "natural-born citizen" as the Constitution requires. In response last summer, Obama's campaign posted his Hawaiian birth certificate on its Web site. But the lawsuit argues it is a fake and that Obama was actually born in his father's homeland of Kenya, even though Hawaiian officials have said the document is authentic. "This case, if it were allowed to proceed, would deserve mention in one of those books that seek to prove that the law is foolish or that America has too many lawyers with not enough to do," U.S. District Judge James Robertson said in his written opinion. The lawsuit didn't even use Obama's legal name but called him "Barry Soetoro," the name he went by while attending elementary school in Indonesia. It's one of many that has been filed claiming Obama is ineligible to serve as president. Robertson ordered plaintiff's attorney John Hemenway of Colorado Springs, Colo., to show why he hasn't violated court rules barring frivolous and harassing cases and shouldn't have to pay Obama's attorney, Bob Bauer, for his time arguing that the case should be thrown out.

This “Judge” is a died and the wool koolaid drinking Rat.
This Judge is a died in the wool koolaid drinking Rat.
A man doesn’t spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in lawyer fees to to keep a 10 dollar legitimate document from the public.
The judge is corrupt as the president.
I have posted the info to them in post 40. Some haven't read that part of the Constitution. ;-)
Really? He might because he is a Dem but he is ignoring the Constitution. See post 40.
Jindal running for President would be unconstitutional. Or don’t you care?
look up John Hemenway’a name. If this is the same JH I knew when he was in the Foreign Service/State Dept., he is one great America Tried to clean the SD of reds and cowards.
Even if he is not the same person, the name brings hope to those of us suffering in Obamaland.
There's a few obvious ones who I'm sure you are well aware of.
One of my parents was born in England. I don't think they were yet a citizen when I was born in the US although this happened very shortly afterward. I've never considered myself a citizen of the UK or a subject of the Queen and I have always felt strong loyalty to the United States and none toward any other country. I am at least 35 years of age and have resided in the United States my entire life except for one period of a few months (which was a lot more than 14 years go).
I have difficulty believing that it is a point of settled law that I could not run for president.
I could see people trying to make this argument if I got close, but I'm not sure that the law or the courts have yet provided a precise definition of "natural born" which would rule me out.
“the same reason we never saw Clinton’s medical records.”
Or Kerry’s military records.
Oh yeah. I noticed. There’s a whole lot more to it. And most freepers aren’t clueless.
See post 40.
So what?
The fix is in.
But it's only because you don't look like this:
There. Fixed it for you.
You are entitled to your opinion. You cannot change the Constitution.
Then quote it. Quote the part of the Constitution that defines natural born citizen.
i’d respond by saying, “i’m sorry your honor... but what birth certificate are you referring to? there is no such thing in evidence. please have the defense place such a document into evidence so we may examine it.”
“as for the governors statement, which statement would that be? please cite the press release or video tape and submit that into evidence as well”
then i would tear both pieces apart in front of the judge. at which point i would submit the video of 0bama’s paternal grandmother stating how she was at his birth in kenya. i would then push forward the issue of having a british citizen as one of the parents and the other not eligible to transfer natural born status onto the child.
and yes, i would end up appealing since the judge is defending for a democrat. i may even request that he recuse himself from the case as he was appointed by the political party in question
