Let them have mine Jim. I hold you to no restriction on protecting my privacy as I am the one person responsible for me. That said...I feel strongly that we may be viewed as disloyal. Nothing could be farther from the truth as many of us have sworn an oath officially to the Constitution in many fields of endeavor and as such have a duty and an obligation to our oath. That also includes protecting the President. He or she may not be of our choosing but he or she is ours! Mom and dad did not vote for Kennedy but I remember how they wept when he died.

An IP means nothing unless they can link it to a name. Do you know how hard that is?

It's easy. A simple whois command will tell them which ISP owns the IP. If it's in Vladivostok, that means extra work. But if it's Comcast in Pittsburgh, say, then they just ask Comcast to tell them which subscriber had that IP during the time period in question.
