Unfortunately, we are saddled with a communist sympathizer in the White House. I don't know whether or not he's an actual card carrying commie, but he's definitely an America-hating, anti-capitalist Marxist leftist who thinks communism is the way to go. Now I remember when America used to fight against communism. It wasn't that long ago. Many of us on FR are veterans of wars against communism and some of us believe that American citizens who are communists are the enemy within, ie, the domestic enemy we've sworn to defend against. American citizen? hmmmm... that may be a loophole for Obama.
At any rate, the oath is to defend our constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. I can imagine that this places an enormous strain on our Secret Service agents. It's obvious to anyone with a brain that Obama is an enemy of the constitution. So should the SS defend the constitution or defend the anti-constitution commie?
So now comes the problem. If you feel it's your duty to call Obama a traitor and use salty language in your proposed resolution, ie, suggest the commie be keelhauled, walked off the plank, run up the yardarm, tarred and feathered and run out of Dodge, etc, etc, etc, you may be facing a visit from your friendly Secret Service. And even though your visiting agent may agree politically, and may take his oath to the constitution seriously, he's still sworn to protect the officeholder and it's his duty to take all threats seriously. And that may include serving me with a subpoena to turn over your IP address. Now I'm duty bound to protect your privacy to the best of my ability, but I cannot defend against stupidity.
Best advice I can give is to keep it to yourself. Don't post anything that may embarrass you later, or end you up in the slammer.
Ever vigilant.

That was then, this is now. You are right about how we would have done it before. “Taken the bullet no matter what the party” or how much he defrauded the election and disenfranchised our votes.
How long will we take this abuse from the Marxists yet still remain “loyal” to them and by extension their cause?
Sooner or later we are going to have to admit things are as bad as they are. That the division is as bad as it is. That the Democrats have spent decades carefully working on disassembling and dividing the nation.
Sooner or later we’ll have to admit that the one way street that we have been going down when dealing with the Left lo these many years is over and that now there very tactics and playbook can indeed be turned around on them. There is little to lose since there playbook of the last 8 years seems to have worked out well for them indeed.
We got to this point by always “taking the high road” and letting the Left get away with whatever they wanted. Now its time to start thinking about taking the survival road.
Currently a cold “civil war” exists in America. But for how long? How long until these sickening Marxists, drunk with power and arrogance push it over the line? My bet is that is only gets worse from here. We are seeing them already going after anyone who dissents.
We will never go back to Mayberry America because the Left has made it their mission to wipe it off the map and out of the fabric of our society long ago. There are consequences for those actions by the Left. One consequence is that far fewer conservatives are willing to “take the bullet” for these treasonous bas-tards who call themselves “Americans” anymore.
Anyone willing to bet that the Usurper is even capable of uniting the nation or is even willing to? This evil lying Marxist in his Pied Piper outfit?
I used to care a lot and worry a lot about the thought of the Islamofascists next strike on major metropolitan Blue Zones. After the last 8 years of treason from the Left and the Left Wanting Bush to Fail and their getting away with it, sadly I am fairly certain I will care far less now if a Blue Zone is hit hard.
I would morn for any conservative lives lost but I doubt my concern would extend past that point. Too much has passed, too much bad blood. Too many abuses of power by the Left and their media spinning their pack of lies day in and day out. Its my right to pick and choose who I give a damn about and no one has to like it.
Somehow the feeling of “just desserts” and “they brought it on themselves no matter how hard we tried to help them” would be difficult to shake. Somehow the feeling that “They did everything possible to interfere with going after Islamofascists despite our best efforts” will be staring us all right in the face.
This is a sign of a nation truly shattered by 8 years of treasonous backstabbing, “Wanting-Bush-to-Fail” and undermining from the Left. I don’t think anything will fix it personally. And neither do a lot of people.
Those that inhabit the Blue Zones have done everything in their power to help achieve this “State of The Union”. It is not humanly possible to not feel that ironic justice is not part of the equation - should these events that everyone thinks will eventually happen again - happen again.
And that’s one reason why I don’t live in any Major Metro Blue Zone.
Its not against the law to not give a damn anymore about what happens to Marxists as they engage in their insurgency in America.
They used to be able to count on many of us as rock solid. I think those numbers are now dwindling. And that’s what surprises the Left most of all. They didn’t expect a united front and vote. They thought we would just bow down to them and come crawling. We are not acting like we always have. They used to be able to push us around and act however they want and yet count on us to help hold things together.
Funny how this time, it doesn’t seem to be working.

The left was shocked at the gathering of conservatives in DC encouraging our representatives to convict and remove President Clinton. They were even more shocked by the surrounding of the vice president’s residence by people shouting “get out of Cheney’s house”.
Who will forget the attempt to hide the ballot counting in Florida, when the conservatives came close to rioting?
Protesting and marches were always a tactic of the left. They don’t quite know what to do when it is done by conservatives.
Speaking of protests and marches, what happened to the anti-war hysteria and Obama’s recent backing off his oft mentioned campaign promised withdraw of troops in 2010? What about the ramping up the troops sent to Afghanistan?
Hypocritical low life slime balls don’t care enough to continue protesting? What has changed? I would really have to assume they were ALL lying sacks of feces for all of the “bring them home” because we care so much about our troops. Lying sacks of feces!

I haven't look at it yet*. My understanding is that the SS investigates all threats against the president to see if the author is an actual security threat. If the author is not a security threat, the SS does not act as a censor. Some of the things they leave in place definitely raise eyebrows.
*I checked out the Crooks and Liars site, but could not find the "comment page" you were talking about.

Isn’t that a part of what we’re trying to defeat? It’s sort of laying responsibility back on someone else who’s “in charge” of us, instead of taking responsibility for one’s own actions.
