OPENING MONOLOGUE: Rush to the President: Debate Me
RushLimbaugh.com ^ | March 4, 2009 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 03/04/2009 10:14:16 AM PST by Scanian

RUSH: It is on the record -- thanks to Politico.com -- since last fall, the White House, led by Rahm Emanuel, the chief of staff to Barack Obama, has been targeting me, your host, your harmless, lovable little fuzzball. Their standard operating procedure: they need a demon to distract and divert from what their agenda is. They need a demon about whom they can lie so as to persuade average Americans that they're the good guys, the benevolent good guys, and the mean SOBs are their enemies trying to stop this great young little president from doing miraculous and wonderful things.

Here is a new ad that this union bunch is running in Washington, DC, ladies and gentlemen. And, of course, it's been picked up all over the Web. You guys, if you haven't done so, you gotta go to RushLimbaugh.com. The DNCC, whatever it is, they have a questionnaire up there. It's hilarious. I have to give 'em credit. You can see it right now at RushLimbaugh.com. It is a form letter where any Republican can send a note of apology to me. The note is an apology note to me, and you can fill in your name and the reason you're apologizing. It is funny. I had to laugh when I saw it last night. I instructed Koko, just put it up there, 'cause it's hilarious. It's as good as the old Saturday Night Live stuff back when Saturday Night Live was actually funny. But there's a new ad targeted at your lovable, harmless little fuzzball host from that union bunch. It starts today in Washington, DC, which means it's going to be all over the cable networks pretty soon.

Wow! Rush was pimping Obama big time. The thin skin thing may bring Obama down. If he cracks over Rush, just think what he would do in a REAL crisis!

How about debates styled after the historic Lincoln v Douglas debates. Not just one debate but a host of them ove a two month period...

With this challenge Rush will at least succeed in taking the focus off the supposed “schism” between him and Michael Steele and re-focus it where it belongs: on Zer0 and his insane policies.

What can the world (and Islam) think about the president of the world’s superpower dusting it up with an entertainer! Better start stocking up on survival provisions... (like we already don’t)

Rush can frame, re-frame, and then frame again the salient points of opposition — faster than the doofuses arrayed against him can come up with their own “tawking points”.

Your mileage may vary, but in terms of courageous, principled, ideological leadership, Rush does it for me.

And for anyone whining about Rush — name ONE “official” conservative who does the job better, or even as well, as Rush. If someone else would step up to the plate, I’m sure Rush would give that one all the support he could use!

But the truth is, 99.999% of office-holding supposed “conservatives” are cowards, afraid as hell to bite the hand that feeds them and that they want to continue to feed them. A pox on the republican party for this shameful attitude.

Good idea. That will free us up to select a NEW and EFFECTIVE RNC leader...

The point is, the Dems have annointed Rush as the LEADER of the Republican Party. It would be a LEADER to LEADER debate and policy discussion.

Rush is easily the most astute political animal in the U.S. The libs have no idea what to do about him.

Carville, Begala, Emanuel & Co. foolishly think that because Rush has a low approval with young voters they can demonize him successfully. Young people aren’t known to be AM listeners, are they?

Already a caller is quibbling about format. Appears to me the White House started this, so it’s Rush who gets to pick the weapon, and he wants a debate.
