AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and hes not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (thats Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! IberiaBank returns TARP funds
Lafayette-based IberiaBank Corp. is now saying thanks but no thanks to the U.S. Treasurys Capital Purchase Program, which was designed for healthy banks. Last year, IberiaBank was one of three Louisiana-based banks, along with MidSouth and Whitney, to participate in the CPP, a component of the Treasurys $750 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program originally designed to bail out of the financial industry. However, all three have been reconsidering accepting the capital since the governments recent $787 billion economic stimulus program imposed new restrictions on participating banks. Primarily, the government is now imposing strict limits on executive bonuses. IberiaBank sold $90 million in preferred stock to the Treasury through the program, Whitney sold $300 million and MidSouth sold $20 million....
I’m glad you guys are still around...I’m feeling so politically alone lately...
I seem to remember* that one of the terms of his agreement in his drug problem was that he couldn’t own a firearm. How long that ban was for, I have no idea...
(*my memory ain’t so good these days)
Thanks for that information.
Unless she is interviewed during a NASCAR Race by Darrell Wallrip, I highly doubt I will every see her.
That’s how I feel....I really hate her and her character...and you would think on the show they would dress her up a little bit....
I thought you lived in Conservative country?
Really, guess I just don't hear when he talks about that. He must cook his own meals also.
I thought you are in Bama, redest of red states?
My only satisfaction is that Garfy (as our 24 thread calls her) is soooo ineffectual at her job. And she was dumb enough to give Sean that key thingy...so if she doesn’t get killed off then maybe she can face accomplice charges on the shooting of Agent Uma Thurman....
I love that thread...its a two hour show on Monday!!!
.
Good find potlatch!
Hussein the Unhung may soon add free cocaine to Medicare as a slimming aid!
A little crack in the dam?
Yes, but as a supporting person: “Big Trouble” and “Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion”.
She can’t carry a film herself and is only funny when sparking off actual persons of demonstrated acting talent (such as Mira Sorvino, for instance).
Good turnout...for a Friday.
He takes his own cat to the vet.
“What was that the lady just said about the tax cut will have to be paid back next year???”
Did a little more digging on this. Her Tax adviser may have given her a load of fertilizer. Below is what my company just sent out. Company name removed... It does sound like the tax table is changed. Still $13 every two weeks is nothing.
IRS withholding tax law change in effect for future paychecks
A U.S. Internal Revenue Service withholding tax law change (IRS Publication 919) will result in an average $13 less federal tax being withheld from each bi-weekly paycheck of affected employees. Shared Services Payroll & Timekeeping reports the revised tax tables were implemented in XXXXX systems on Feb. 24, and paychecks created after that date are being calculated using the new tax table. It is not necessary for employees to submit a Form W-4 to receive the automatic withholding change. The IRS asked employers to start using these new tables as soon as possible, but no later than April 1.
Because it's one more betterer than that other show.

Oh, get off the phone lady. You sound like a lib.
Daryl G. Byrd, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company commented, “The Capital Purchase Program under TARP has assisted in the effort to provide stability to the financial services industry during this period of unprecedented uncertainty. When we decided to accept funds under this program, we believe we were the type of healthy bank that could employ the funds in the manner consistent with the goals initially set out by Congress and the Treasury in supporting the expansion of credit to the markets we serve.
We believe recent actions, interpretations, and commentary regarding various aspects of the program places our Company at an unacceptable competitive disadvantage. Our Board of Directors has determined that continued participation in this program is no longer in the best interest of our Company and its shareholders.” Byrd continued, “Our Company occupies a unique position of strength, growth, and opportunity relative to other participants in the financial services industry. We are pleased to be able to redeem the Treasury’s investment in our Company.”
It is more conservative than the capital but for the first time in 40 years they elected a Dem rep who votes with the GOP a lot (like on the stimulus), but working downtown in the Capital (Montgomery) you get a lot of liberalism....
