Activists: help discredit Luis Gutierrez on his nationwide tour for amnesty

Rep. Luis Gutierrez and his friends from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus will be conducting a nationwide tour to push for "comprehensive immigration reform", i.e., amnesty.

What I need you to do is to organize local efforts to go to these meetings and ask him or his nationally-known colleagues questions designed to discredit them. Video of that can then be uploaded to Youtube. Note that I'm talking about questions designed to show that they're lying or not telling the whole truth or that they haven't thought through the impacts of their policies. I'm not talking about rants, open ended questions, and so on.

I can supply questions or help edit questions, but I need *you* to organize local efforts to go out and ask them. If you need my help, leave a comment at the link.

Here's a schedule from luisgutierrez.house.gov/PRArticle.aspx?NewsID=1360:

1. February 27, Providence, RI
2. February 28, Atlanta, GA
3. March 1, Albuquerque, NM
4. March 7, Ontario, CA
5. March 7, San Francisco, CA
6. March 8, Phoenix, AZ
7. March 13 El Paso, TX
8. March 13, Los Angeles, CA*
9. March 14, Dallas, TX
10. March 15, Mission, TX
11. March 21, Chicago, IL
12. March 21, Joliet, IL
13. March 22, Milwaukee, WI
14. March 27, Las Vegas, NV
15. March 28, Orlando, FL
16. March 29, Miami, FL
17. April 4, Philadelphia, PA

*Per them: "Los Angeles will not be attended by Rep. Gutierrez. Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, including Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard, Rep. Xavier Becerra, Rep. Grace F. Napolitano, and Rep. Linda Sanchez will attend."

There is something positive we can all do. Incumbents for the most part need the boot. Let me explain why. I wrote an E mail to John Ensign, who is one of my state senators’ expressing my displeasure for his support for Timmy the tax dodger. I finally got a response yesterday and it knocked my socks off. He stated that while the tax cheat was not perfect he was still the best man for the job in his opinion. I urge my fellow Nevadans to come out in the primaries and give Ensign the boot.

NOTE: If you just tend to whine and post negative “we’re screwed” messages, BUTTON YOUR LIP. DON’T post. You’re part of the problem. Go get positive and come back ready to be a positive force. We’ve got enough anchor dragging without you.

The only difference Between the FAR LEFT and the FAR RIGHT is nither believes in free speech!!!

There is a big difference between the Left outlawing free speech—and citizens advocating against cursing ourselves and our plight instead of doing something constructive....

The similarity does not explain the *difference*.

There is a huge difference... Both try to prevent those that don't agree with their views from posting positions of which they don't approve.

Both the far left and the far right believe they know the truth but can't stand for anyone to post an opposing view.

The only reason to ask those who disagree with you not to post is you are unsure your view can prevail in the open market place of opinions. You believe others are dumber than you and will not see through what you can clearly see through.

It is the ultimate put down of your peers and the expression of a colossal ego.

Sir,

Words mean things. Tokyo Rose and Axis Sally used words to deceive, targeting the open marketplaces of ideas. Code Pink and most Democrats do that now.

Those who are thus deceived lose the will to fight. If I can—by informing the deceived and exposing the deceivers—prevent intelligent but uninformed (there is a huge difference) people from being DIScouraged, then I shall do so.

Friendly fire—ISN’T. For a second opinion, find a Bible and look up Proverbs 23:7. Words can be either blessings or curses. Doubt and cynicism are the result of hearing curses without renouncing and denouncing them. Doubters and cynics don’t fight for their core beliefs for they have none they consider worth fighting for.

It has little to do with my ego. It has everything to do with moral imperatives and encouragement and preservation of our beloved Republic.

What we were talking about was your asking people to not post views with which you disagree.

That is surpression of free Speech.

If this site only allowed those with whom the owner agrees to post it would be a worthless site.

Mostly posters create threads based on published articles with which most Freepers disagree. That allows those of us who wish to post to refute the arguments made in the articles. Some sub posts are in oposition to those in the main post to which some of us may disagree.

Your mentioning of Tokyo Rose and Axis Sally is of no value. No one in the west believed anything Tokyo Rose or Axis Sally published. Their words were totally ineffective and accomplished the exact opposite of their intentions. They only revealed how little the Japanese and Germans knew about the United States Canada, and Great Britain.

If those that are discouraged and in doubt never post there is no way to know of their doubts and to change their minds.

Supression of Free Speech is always a bad thing. There is no way to change someone’s mind if that person does not post his true views.
