“Whatd you expect from a $315,000/year hospital outreach vp?”
That job, for those that don’t know, was created especially for Michelle. It was created when he was elected jr. Senator and disappeared when the Zero won the election. He or she were being paid back for something.
Doe’s anyone know what brand of bacon they use at the Whitehouse?

I didn’t realize grits was a staple in Chicago...

You're right. This is nothing more than PR, as much as was the elder Bush's affinity for pork rinds or Clinton's fondness for McDonald's hamburgers. The idea of projecting an image of being one of “da peepul” is an old one. As far back as 1840, William Henry Harrison, raised on a plantation in Tidewater Virginia, campaigned for the Presidency as a frontiersman living in a log cabin who drank hard cider. The image was to cotnrast with Martin Van Buren, who was really a self-made man, but was attacked as a New York dilletante.

The only thing I can agree on with The Messiahs - I love waffles and grits.

I may vomit! The woman who orders room service lobster and champagne at a fancy hotel eats waffles and grits? To be fair, that room service story was fake - she wasn't even staying at the hotel where it supposedly took place

I can remember my dad making chipped beef gravy on toast to this day.
Grits, fried okra, black eye peas I miss them all!

Chicago is in the South? Chicago has a large population of blacks who are one to three generations removed from the mid-South, especially the Mississippi Delta. It's no different than Polish Americans favoring pierogis or Jewish Americans bagels, except that African American food preferences did not originate from ancestors who came from overseas 90-130 years ago.

I prefer them separated but will eat them together if I HAVE to. :-) I love maple syrup on my waffles and lots of butter, salt and pepper on my grits. Now I’m starving!!

LADY J, are you sure you meant to send your posting to me? Suggest you re-read my postings. I have made no mention of Chicago nor suggested that it is in the south. I am from Texas, God Bless Texas...

Thanks for posting, I did not know that, after seeing your post I went to factcheck and saw this.
“The New York Post, which originally reported the fabricated story as true on October 17, has retracted its article. Darragh Murphy, the director of Puma PAC, has also retracted the flyer and apologized for perpetuating the hoax.
-Jess Henig
Clarification: Michelle Obama was in New York on the evening of Oct. 15 to attend the final presidential debate but did not stay in the Waldorf-Astoria, according to the Obama campaign (and the New York Post retraction). She left Indiana after her afternoon speech. The receipt is dated 4:04 pm, at which time the campaign says Obama had not yet arrived in New York.”
