Another problem he has is that he has no concept of what it is to be an American. No shared cultural or historical experience with the rest of us to shape his idea of being an American. We all as children here in the U.S. growing up experienced and lived all kinds of things that constitutes our view of this country.(4th of July events, road trips with the folks, county fairs-the list goes on and on.) What was That One doing during those critical childhood years?

(Please note, this is not meant as a slam at some of us who for whatever reason did grow up outside the states-missionaries, military, etc. The big difference there is that odds are those folks had 2 parents who were Americans and even though living abroad instilled some concept of the country and maybe even celebrated American holidays in their own little way, to preserve their American identity.
