"Six years ago, Specter barely won the Republican primary, but he says he's not afraid to fight for the job one more time."

The thought of Specter running again makes me puke.

Specter survived by less than 2% in the 2004 primary.

If the Republicans (Santorum is one of them and so is Bush) had backed Conservative candidate Toomey instead of perpetual RINO Specter, the stimulus package and other lib bills would have a harder time getting passed.

When will the GOP learn that Conservatives can win if the party gets behind them?

I heard that he asked a group of primarily democrat voters to cross over “become a Republican for a day” and vote for him in the primary. It was in Philadelphia.

but he says he's not afraid to fight for the job one more time.

To further cement his chances, he should put a "D" next to his name.

“Specter, 79, acknowledges his run for re-election will be tough”
79 years old and his massive ego will not let him retire.
Makes me in favor of term limits.

"Even so, Specter acknowledges the Republican Party's conservative wing will attempt to unseat him in next year's primary race. "

As compared to what, the RINO wing he belongs to?

Glad you pointed out the fact that Bush campaigned for Specter. A$$holes — both of ‘em.

If the nation continues to collapse under BO, his enablers, Specter, Collins and Snowe, will be fortunate not to have been tarred and feathered by next year.

He’s running again?

Ugh

I don’t think he knows how to do anything else.

And he stinks at what he’s been doing for the last 30+ years.

“Specter acknowledges the Republican Party’s conservative wing will attempt to unseat him in next year’s primary race.”

You bet, we will! Senator Specter, you have betrayed our party, our principles and our values. You do not deserve to be called a Republican. You are a Democrat; just resign from the party, don’t run for re-election and save yourself the embarrassment of being blown out of the water in the primary!

He says he's not completely happy with Obama's plans but he points out that he was able to cut the price tag by over $100 billion

What an idiot. He could have stopped it completely!

Specter needs to go to Florida and spend his remaining days with his good friend ted and they can join hands and stroll into the sunset.

The GOP is just the Democrat-lite party.

Sure, it has a few foreign policy conservatives that will trade off economic liberty for the sake of hardline foreign policy and defense spending. And it has a few libertarian conservatives. But most of them are just politicians of the worst sort. The GOP had its chance and blew it because its politicians are just as sleezy as Democrats. I was going to say they were just as unprincipled as the Democrats, but the Democrats are rock-solid by comparison when it comes to their support for abortion, government indoctrination in state schools, gay rights, and Italian-style economic fascism (aka socialism). The Republicans simply have no commitment to any particular principles except maybe self-enrichment and stupidity.

When will the GOP learn that Conservatives can win if the party gets behind them?

The corrupt "Two-Party Cartel" which is owned by the elites, do not want a true conservative agenda to develope because it's against their domination. If there were more (R)s in the Senate there would have been more bought off & the same results would have occurred. The same for here in California with its budget. If there were 3 more conservatives in the senate & assembly, they would have been bought off & we still would have had increased taxation. It's the game played for many yrs & the sheeple haven't got a clue why they get sh%^ on each important vote & election.

“Specter acknowledges the Republican Party’s conservative wing will attempt to unseat him in next year’s primary race.”

There’s nothing worse than an old man that winds up his life’s work as a turncoat.

Oust him!

These types are the WORST OF THE WORST! Phony, two-faced, back-stabbing, unprincipled piece of dung!

Give me ten communists to ONE of these.
