"Bill creates detention camps in U.S. for 'emergencies'"

Are uprisings considered emergencies?

My point is that we as a nation have been sleeping on the job, allowing our natural defenses of nobility, freedom and courage to atrophy to the point that a cabal can destroy it.

I absolutely agree.

(I really have trouble crediting Schumer with that kind of discipline and power.)

Schumer is a skeeve. He leaked a memo about having no confidence in a certain bank and Bingo!, bank run. There was talk about an investigation and it just quietly went away.

“Or to put it more simply. What happens when you make the adjustments and 6 months later they still can’t pay? Because that’s precisely what’s going to happen.”

Then we wait patiently for that to happen and then pounce like hell on it. If we stay quiet until then and this turns out to be the case, this will be one hell of a political opportunity to exploit.

If we scream and rant and rave until then and it happens, our tired old complaints will fall on deaf ears. If we scream and rant and rave and it turns out to help, even a little, we are fubar.

This moderation in words and deeds is what I am looking for in the Republican party. Quietly wait in the background and seem to be trying to “help” yet make the disagreements known in a very tactful way, make sure they are disseminated. Then when the Dem policies tank, move in for the political kill.

Things like Drudge’s sensational CNBC revolt are the exact antithesis of how Obama and the Dems need to be handled.

Yeah, what are the addresses of those detention centers?

I personally know of three: Fort Chaffee, AR is the first. Krome Detention Center along Krome Ave in Miami is another and Homestead Air Reserve Base in Homestead, FL is the third that I actually remember from the 1987 article in the Miami Herald that discussed the locations and purposes for these newly funded (in 1987) centers. The City of Homestead initially put up a HOWL of protest but that quickly died away with some liberal applications of pork. Those based at military posts are supposed to be able to handle 200,000 individuals each. That figure might be attainable at Homestead Air Reserve Base but only if all flight ops shut down and they put the tent city up across the entirety of the field. But it certainly is possible. I remember, too, one of the stated "uses" was to handle another mass cuban influx like the Mariel Boatlift.

You spoke from sarcasm, I spoke from knowledge. The detention centers exist. Ignore them and you might find yourself and your family occupying one.

Such numbers mean nothing. Actually they mean something - excrement.

How many Repubs did they ask? What were the questions? How many voters did they ask? College students? Welfare recipients? Racial breakdown? Etc.

Just the usual polling crap sandwich.

“And regarding my status, I am a Republican but I am a pragmatic Republican. I don’t want to see reactionary outrage from current Republicans lead to a complete and total socialist take over like that of 1934.”

I’m so sick of wobbly-kneed, pansy-*ssed “Republicans” I could puke!

“reactionary outrage from current Republicans”

THUS FARE THERE HAS BEEN NO “REACTIONARY OUTRAGE” AT ALL—HOW FAR HAS THIS GOTTEN US?

“I made a post in 2006 predicting our current political situation.”

I was predicting a hard-left attack on this country in the 80’s. The KGB has been predicting it since the 40’s.

I was called “extremist” and “alarmist” and “naive” all throught the nineties for using the term “socialism” to describe where we are heading—you can’t get away from the word now, can you?

THESE ARE NOT YOUR GRANDFATHER’S DEMOCRATS! THE TIME FOR QUIET, REASONED DEBATE IS OVER—USELESS!

If you turn the other cheeck these people will rip it off! They care not for ANY of your “reasoned” arguments.

This is not 1934—we’re not even close.

It’s plain to see the American people are getting screwed financially and, worse yet, robbed of their freedom.

It was “socialism by stealth” for the last 50 years—now they’re not even trying to hide it because of the ground they have gained.

If we don’t fight them, we’re done, got it? If we sit back and wait for our “representatives” to represent us, we’re cooked, comprende?

Your solution has been tested and tried and has proven ineffective—they don’t care about your argument—THEY’RE NOT LISTENING TO YOU!

“...obstructionist crazy people that are irrelevant.”

The left does pretty good with that image, don’t they?

Acorn
La Raza
MoveOn.org
Meccha
PETA
and on, and on....

They’re billionaires now, jackmercer!

What “pragmatic” argument do you have to offer these people? What can the polite, “high road” Republican do to tame these people?

Are you waiting for them to follow the rules again? The rules that have been adhered to for two hundred years?

FORGET ABOUT IT—IT AIN’T HAPPENING—IT AIN’T COMIN’ BACK—IT’S OVER, IT’S OVER!

THESE ARE HARD-LEFTISTS THAT MEAN TO TAKE US DOWN!

The sooner you all realize it, like Rick, the sooner we can get down to the SERIOUS, SERIOUS business of fighting them.

Their job is EASY!

Our job is hard!

Freedom WILL LOSE if we are not willing to fight twice as hard as they do.

We have to hold it all together AND fight them.

THEY ONLY HAVE TO TEAR IT ALL APART!

Fight, Americans, or this will just get worse, and worse, and worse

There is no utopia at the end of this awful road paved with the lives of millions of innocents.

Millions of innocents who paid dearly for the left’s “kind-hearted” agenda.

Socialism/Fascism/Communism are ANCIENT systems—nothing new—nothing “progressive”.

Freedom is new to human’s—let’s defend it!

"For starters, we could all print out the stimulus bill...

Two Problems with that, if we each tossed a full copy of the stimulus bill into Lake Michigan the lake would overflow its banks and the resulting paper shortage would strip the USA of all its Pulp Wood Forests...

“One item the Republicans need to focus on is that for the homeowner bailout, the homeowner apparently gets to keep any future upside when home values go up. That is wrong and is NOT consistent with the adminstration cracking down on executive salaries at banks that receive federal money.”

That is exactly right. But let me be the devil’s advocate here.

The sheeple voters just saw a Republican administration bailout Wall Street with a TARP and 2 trillion Fed Reserve guarantees and loans. They saw Wall Street bask in years of profits on taking risks and then had their losses from these same risks socialized. All upside, no downside.

So in this respect I can see how the Dems will counter your argument in a heartbeat as hipocrisy. No matter that it was the Bush administration and not the Congressional Republicans, sheeple see them as one.

What happens when you make the adjustments and 6 months later they still can’t pay?

ACORN is already on it. What you do is forbid foreclosures. The People have a right to housing! Down with the Man!

That will, of course, generate another banking crisis, and we already know what the Dems' intentions are in that respect. This little looting game can go on for a very long time.

“What would happen if the productive – the Atlases of this country – were to shut down for a week in a strike as a protest against the growing Socialism of this country?”

I think many of them already have....permanently-by moving their businesses, in whole or in part, out of the USSA.

Yes. Increasingly it appears the only way to beat the socialists will be to shut down their money supply. As I said earlier, I’m beginning to doubt wheteher we have enough citizens with traditional American values to vote the SOBs out of office.

Hope and Change: Police pull over man for anti-Obama sign

Someone had the idea over there to put anti-NOBama stickers on cars in parking lots, so they'd get keyed and he could start a car painting business.

That gave me a FUN idea! People should buy anti-NOBama stickers and place them OVER the Pro-NOBama stickers on the worshipper's cars, and watch them get their cars keyed by their OWN fellow disciples!

Now THAT would be FUNNY!

It would be great if a talk show host in every major US city organized a TEA PARTY to bring attention to Obama's hand in our pockets and the generational theft being committed by this Congress.

What a great way to bring attention tho this. It would be a great place for some of our new and younger leaders to step forward and be seen and heard by the U.S. population.

Yes, just like the Oct 2006 numbers and the Oct 2008 numbers, all excrement right? Do a search and you will find lots of people that shared that same sentiment and also shared the same bewilderment after the first week of Novemebers 2006 and 2008. I’m just trying to inject reality into the argument and yank heads out of the sand...for the Love of God these elections have CONSEQUENCES!
