No, they didn’t. They walked through the man’s house, and that is a warrentless search. He did give permission, so probably nothing more can be said. But it is a way to intimidate him and the public.
Since the Secret Service itself had ALREADY stated that his sign was not a threat, they should not have desired a search of his premises.
I wonder if this guy will put the sign back in his car or if others will given what happened? This guy now has his name on police and SS records and files. This is intimidation and whether the guy got off or not, it does send a message.
